~~Chance Encounter~~

After yesterday's, hectic day of driving, I decided to pull over at a Café to grab a drink and something to eat and drink before I have to get moving again.

The café was called 'Chance Encounter' the irony was that it kind of was a chance because I didn't see it at first. Strange... But still I pulled up outside and walked in, locking my car behind me.

The café was amazing. Not too many people were in there. And the smell... The smell was to die for. It was like the retro type café you would see in movies. Shiny metal tables and stools, padded with a bright red cushion. I decided to sit at the bar bit instead of taking up a whole table as a woman came up to me.

"What can I get you Hunnie?" She asked, not sarcastically but, in a happy way.

"Um... can I just get a coffee please?" I asked her.

"Corse you can... Are you sure there's nothing else?" she asked.

"No thank-you." I smiled.

"ONE COFFEE FOR THE PRETTY LADY!" she shouted back to a guy hidden in the kitchen area. "So... are you here alone?" She asked politely.

"Yeah, I am indeed." I answered.

"Now, why is a pretty little lady to be here all alone?" She asked concern evident in her voice.

"Oh... I'm traveling." I said not wanting to go into my life story.

"Looking for your other 'alf I assume." She said very sarcastically, and more stated it than asked.

"Yeah... Unfortunately." She laughed. A man handed me my coffee from the machine.

"Don't blame ya' for feeling like that." She winked and he set coffee in front of me.

"Thank-you." She nodded and introduced the man.

"Oh, this is Wayne. Me husband. Ma names Ira." She smiled and Wayne held out his hand.

"Nice to meet you two, My names Imogen." I gladly shook his hand.

"So, here on 'unt for you 'other half'?" I laughed at his tone.

"Yeah. You don't agree?" I asked. He smiled and shook his head.

"Nope, not one bit. Never understood it ma' self. But can't argue with the law now can we." He smiled again and walked away. "Lovely to meet you Imogen."

"You too Wayne." I giggled.

"Call us if you need anything else Hun." Ira told me as she started to walk away. Then she turned back around. "Oh, and um... think ya have an admirer." She winked and secretly gestured towards the corner of the café.

Turning to see what she was talking about, I looked and sat in the corner was a boy.

He was sat in a booth alone. With a coffee and his phone. He was doodling on a napkin and looked up when I turned around.

He had deep brown hair and the deepest brown eyes you will ever see. He flashed a smile then looked back down to his coffee cup. Was he nervous? I thought.

Turning back around to face my coffee cup, I realised that I was smiling to myself.

Stop it Imogen. You are out to find your guy. Stop it. Thanks brain. That soooo helps.

After a while I heard a voice. "Hi..." I turned to see the same boy, sitting next to me.

"Um... Hey." I awkwardly answered.

"My... Um... My names Nate... Nate Grey." He smiled again and I melted. No... No I didn't...

"I'm Imogen... Sparks... Imogen Sparks." I laughed at how idiotic I was being.

"Well, its lovely to meet you Imogen. I love that name by the way." He shook my hand.

"Why, Thank-you." I blushed. Why am I blushing. Get it together Imogen. Stop.

Myself and Nate ended up talking for about two hours. He told me about himself and his family and I did the same. He is a really nice guy. Funny, smart, kind, genuine... I could go on. Oh and he's HOT so that helps.

"I never asked... Why are you here?" I asked him.

"Same reason you are." I was confused but then he reached his hand around my neck and tugged on my necklace. Oh god... was it him? Is he my other-

"Oh... Your looking for that person too." I saddened at the fact that it wasn't lit. And neither was his.

"Yeah. Why keep it under your shirt?" He asked, trying to hide the face that he was sad.

"I don't want to parade around that I'm looking for whoever the hell I am." I may have raised my voice a bit but I calmed myself. "And you? What's your reason?" I questioned him.

"Okay so I'm a guy... wearing a heart shaped necklace..." He smiled and I laughed.

"Alright, I understand... not very manly." I was still smiling.

"Yeah. Exactly." he smiled back.

"Well, whoever she is, I hope you find her." I said.

"And whoever your guy is, he will be lucky." Did I catch that right.

"What did you-" I got cut off from shouting.

"What the fu-" Nate jumped up and ran outside.

I ran after him to see what was going on. Through the double doors of the café, the only light coming from the sign on the front, I followed him.

"HEY!" Nate shouted. Some guys where beating a car. "THATS MY CAR!" He ran up to the men and pushed one aside.

"Not really a car anymore, now is it." One of the guys laughed.

"Nate?" I said his name from behind him.

"Just go back inside, I'm alright." He said not turning around.

"Who's this? Your little friend?" Anther guy said as he walked up to me.

"Leave Imogen." Nate warned me.

"Imogen... What a pretty name." He smiled and walked closer. Circling me, he stopped. "So, how about you come with us." He more told me than asked me.

"I'm... o-okay thanks." I stuttered.

"Oh well, let me rephrase that..." He paused and grabbed my wrist. "Come with us." He started pulling me away.

"LEAVE HER ALONE!" I heard Nate shout.

I was still getting pulled. I tried all I could to get out but he was strong. I couldn't get my wrist free. Next thing I saw Nate getting thrown to the floor. I screamed because I didn't know what to do.

"Shut it you little shit!" He stopped and faced me.

I stopped screaming so I could kick him in his 'private parts' and ran for it. He grabbed me again after shouting in pain.

"BANG!" The sound of a shotgun rang through my ears. Was it me? Did he shoot me? I didn't feel anything.
