"So were going back to mine." Zeke said to me.
"Um hum." I hummed.
"It's going to be amazing, all out family's are there." I was staring out the window.
"Um hum." Again, I hummed.
"Are you not excited?" He asked.
"Um hum." I wasn't even listening to him.
"Imogen? I'm trying to be nice." He said.
"Um hum... Sure." I whispered the last part.
"Come on. What do you want me to do?" He asked.
"If I tell you, you'll probably hit me." I quietly said.
"I would never. But if it's about going back, I will hurt you." He then grabbed my attention.
"Why are you doing this?" I strained in my seat and faced him.
"Because I love you Imogen Sparks." His view went from the road to me and back.
"No you don't." I said.
"What?" He asked shocked.
"Come on. Why would you love me? I'm not even sure why Nate did..." I remember talking to him about that. He told me why, but I never saw it in me.
"Because your beautiful... And your my other half." He said.
"But you broke your necklace." I said.
"I know but-" I cut him off.
"Oh yeah, you fucking threw it at my face!" I shouted.
"Babe, calm down." He put his hand on my knee.
"Don't call me babe. And get off of me!" I shook his hand away.
"Okay okay." He pulled over.
"What're you doing?" I asked.
"I just want to tell you that I am so sorry for what happened. I never meant to hit you with it. I swear." He took my hands.
"Stop okay. I get you didn't mean to. But you did." I said, why was I feeling sorry for him?
"I just want you to know that I was absolutely devastated when I realised what I had done... You just made me so mad." He started to squeeze my hand.
"Zeke?" He tightened his grip again. "Zeke!" I shouted.
"What?" He let go.
"Nothing. You just, you were hurting me..." I rubbed my hands together.
"Sorry... Sorry." He said shaking his head.
"Can we just drive." I hurried him.
"Fine." His mood changed in a snap.
We continued to drive down the country lanes. It was like a bloody horror movie. A girl gets taken by a psychopath. Psychopath seems nice. Psychopath tries to kill girl. Hero tries to save her. Girl dies... Why do I out myself in this position. Now I am freaking out!
"Can we turn on some music?" I asked, getting paranoid now.
"Sure thing, I'll put your one of your favourites on." Zeke put some radio station on and 'American Beauty/American Psycho' came on. "Oh how ironic..." I whispered to myself.
"Do you have any sweets or chewing gum?" I needed to keep myself busy.
"Yeah, in the second slider there." He said pointing in between us.
"This one?-"
"NO! N-not that one..." He quickly told me.
"Okay... chill out, not that one..." I opened the second slider and took out a pack of Extra Strength Mints.
"Want one?" I asked.
"What's with the whole nice girl act now?" He asked.
"I didn't see the point of being a bitch. If I'm nice, maybe you'd be nice..." I paused for a reply.
"Smart girl. Always works that way." He said taking a mint and popping it into his mouth.
Songs after songs played through the speakers of the car. After a few more hours it started to get dark.
"It's getting dark." I said looking up at the sky, pointing out the obvious, making conversation.
"Were nearly home now anyways." He said.
"Home?" I asked.
"Sorry. My house." He corrected himself.
"How long?" I asked impatiently.
"One or two hours." He said.
We passed another small village before we were anywhere near his house. It was cute. Smaller than Lonsgato but still had everything it needed.
I realised that I was still holding the mints and went to out them back into the pocket by the side of me. I opened the lid and looked down as I slid my hand in. Double taking at the pocket I saw a hand gun. This wasn't the right pocket.
"What are you doing?!" He asked panicked.
"WHY THE FUCK DO YOU HAVE A GUN?!" I shouted.
"I told you not to open that FUCKING ONE!" He said, still driving.
"WERE YOU PLANNING ON KILLING ME?!" I was hyperventilating.
"No I wasn't-" I cut him off shouting.
"THEN WHY THE GUN?!" I was so scared.
"Gen calm down-"
"NO ZEKE?!" I shouted.
"It's your fault were in this position anyway!" He shouted back.
"How is this my fault?!" I asked back.
"If you would have just-"
"Zeke?!" I said.
"No it's NOT my FAULT!" He screamed grabbing the gun, letting go of the wheel.
"ZEKE?!" I screamed pointing forwards.
"AHHHHHHHHHH!" He swerved the car.
All I remember is the song 'Linkin Park - Guilty All The Same' playing on the radio...
Show us all again that our hands are unclean,
That we're unprepared, that you have what we need,
Show us all again, 'cause we can not be saved,
'Cause the end is near, now there's no other way,
But oh, we all know,
Your guilty all the same,
Too sick to be ashamed,
You want to point your finger,
But there's no one else to blame,
You're guilty all the same,
Too sick to be ashamed,
You want to point your finger,
But there's no one else to blame,
Your guilty all the same...'
