~~On The News~~

On the way back the car needed fuelling, we decided stop of a gas station.

"I'm just going to the loo." They all gave me a weird look. "What?"

"I'll wait in the shop for you." Nate said.

"I'm not 5..." I smiled.

"But your not exactly the most innocent person at the moment Squirt." Kris said as he got out to fuel the car.

"Fine." I said.

"Nate. Get some things while your in there." Jeremy told him, handing him some money.

"Thanks dad." He said as we walked into the station.

"I'll be here." Nate said as I walked to the bathroom in the back.

Closing the door behind me, I put the latch on the door. After doing my business I looked into the mirror, hung up on the wall. My makeup was smudged and my hair a mess. How could Nate even like me?! I laughed to myself as I fixed up my whole face.

Unlocking the door and walking back into the shop I saw Nate paying so decided to have a look around at a few things. Then the small TV came on with Flash News written in bold.

'Breaking news. Agents in the Law field are looking for two young people. Male and Female. They are both 18 and are running away from the Agents. They have an reward held for whoever can catch the-'

I got dragged out of the shop buy Nate.

"Drive!" He shouted as we got in the car.

"What?" Kris asked laughing.

"WE ARE ALL OVER THE NEWS. DRIVE!" He shouted.

And he did he drove so fast. "Gen... You okay?" I didn't want to let him know I wasn't.

"We made Flash News!" I fake laughed.

"Not really for the right reason... Close enough though." He smiled and handed me a drink of water.

"Thanks." I took it quickly to hide the fact that I think I was about to have a panic attack.

After a few minuets Kris pulled over. "Jeremy mind driving the rest of the way?" He asked.

"Sure." Jeremy got out of the car.

"Nate... Swap seats, I need to talk to Gen." He said kindly.

"Sure thing." The swapped seats and we began to drive again.

Nate turned the music on and Kris began to talk over it.

"Gen. You just need to breath. Drink the water and then copy me." I shakily took a sip of the water then copied his breathing. "Everything is going to be fine. They are not going to get you. They have to get past me first." He said, calming me.

"How did you-"

"I know you. I could see you from the front. Just breath and come here." He hugged me and kissed my head.

"Were here." Jeremy said, pulling up his drive. We got out and then he continued to drive just in case they saw the car.

"Come in." Nate said opening the door.

"Thanks." Kris said sitting down in the living room.

"So how did you get out?" Nate asked hugging me tightly.

"I had some help." I winked at Kris. "Mrs. Bradbury made a plan for Kristofferson to get me out of the house whilst she distracted my parents." I told him.

"Well thank you Kristofferson." He said letting me go but keeping me close to his side.

"No problem. Anything for my little Squirt." He nudged me.

"I need to go back and thank Mrs. Bradbury." He said.

"They will know you have gone busy now Gen. I will call Avery and see if it's safe." He stood up and walked past us dialling Avery's number.

I heard a bit of their conversation... Well I heard what Kristofferson was saying anyways.

"Are you sure you okay for them to come back?" He asked. But why? She was okay, wasn't she?

"I will bring them back safe. I know you want to see them but-" he was cut off.

"But..." He paused. "Okay fine. I will, but please let me tell them." Another pause.

"They need to-" a long pause. "I know but... She deserves to know... Fine."

"Love you too. See you soon Nan." He put his phone down.

He came back shortly after and said it was okay to go back. We told Jeremy that we were going back and he agreed that we should, but then get strait out of there, which we all agreed upon.

👣...👣...👣

Carefully we pulled up outside Mrs. Bradbury's house. My parents car was gone, like Avery had told us on the phone. Said they were out because they have up looking for me. Said the Agents would do it for them. Admittedly, that stung like drinking battery acid... But I don't care anymore. They don't want what's best for me, they want what's easiest for them.

Walking through the front door of Avery's house Kris entered first waking into the kitchen to get a drink. I shouted but couldn't hear anything in return. I shouted again as myself and Nate searched around the living room.

"She might be upstairs?" I heard Kris shout from the kitchen.

"Thanks Kris!" I shouted back.

Trailing the large, wonky steps of her house Nate was asking about this house.

"So... How do you know Kris?" He asked.

"Oh I use to go out with him. You know, we use to be a thing." He stopped walking and took my wrist in his grasp.

"What?!" He said louder than normal making me laugh.

"Mrs. Bradbury, Avery... She use to babysit me since I was about 2." I said.

"And Kris?" He asked, still pissed, making me laugh more.

"And Kristofferson use to help out. We got close and he's been like my brother ever since." I told him.

"So you two didn't have a thing?" He cleared up.

"No Nate. Me and Kris never had a thing." I laughed.

"Good." He let go of my hand after kissing the back of it. Then we continued to upstairs.

"Mrs. Bradbury, it's only me and Nate..." I said loudly.

I searched one of the spare rooms while Nate tried her room.

"Mrs. Bra- GEEEEN! KRIIIIIIS!" Nate shouted from Mrs. Bradbury's room.

I ran in to see what was going on as I heard Kris run up to us, from downstairs.
