~~Birthday~~

"HAAAPPPYYYYY BITHDAYYYYYU TOOOO YOUUUUUUU!" My mother shouted as she paraded around my room.

"URGH... What time is it?" I groaned. Looking at my phone I had tons of notifications and texts, wishing me happy birthday. Then I noticed that is was 9:00am.

"Get up and come downstairs. I have your presents." She then left my room and I got up.

Struggling to make myself climb out of my cocoon of warmth out my bed covers I noticed that she had left a letter at the end of my bed. It's probably a letter from my dad, telling me he couldn't make it again... It always seems that on special occasions he's never around.

Sighing as I did so, I opened the letter. Inside was a folded piece of paper and what seemed like a card. Not like a birthday card, more like some type of credit card. I unfolded the letter and inside was a card with my picture on it. It read 'Driving Certificate and Licence'

"YESSS!" I ran downstairs, still in my pyjamas, cheering like an idiot.

"What's wrong Hunnie?" My mum tried to act surprised, with a smile plastered in her face, so I assume she already knew.

"I got my drivers licence!!!" I cheered. She came up and hugged me.

"Told you, you would get it!" She took my hand and started walking forward.

"Where are we going?" I asked her.

"Well, what's the point of having a drivers licence without this..."

Opening the front door sat an immaculate, matt black Audi R8 with tinted windows and a blue bow stuck to the side.

"How did you afford this?" I was so happy but I felt guilty for the fact that it was a fucking Audi TT!

"Myself and you father have been saving up for a while. The reason we've not been home a lot is because we've been earning extra money so you could have this." My mum explained.

"I- how- why-" I could speak.

"Because we love you." She said. "Oh and there's one more thing..." She started.

Just then the car door opened and my dad got out.

"DAD!" I ran up to him and hugged him.

"Hey beautiful. How's my little girl?" He asked swinging me around.

"So much better now!" I laughed as he returned me to my feet.

"So... Let's take her beauty out for a test drive?" My dad handed me the keys and opened the door for me.

"What about breakfast?" My mum asked concerned.

"We'll be back before you know it!" My dad answered rushing round to the other side.

"Oh and for your information dad, it's a he... Not a she." I laughed.

"Have it your way." My dad smiled. Bonding time, get ready.

👣...👣...👣

We were out for about 5 minuets. Just cruising around the country lane not too far from our house. I noticed that I was still in my pyjamas...oops.

Silence filled the air in the car, it was nearly suffocating, until my dad broke it.

"So, you're leaving next week." He stated, I kept my eyes on the road but could tell he was looking at me.

"Yeah. Figured that the sooner I go the sooner I get back, you know." Trying to make it sound better than it was.

"Yeah, Of corse... Have you told Dylan yet?" He asked.

"Yeah, he knows. So does Freya, Blake, Haley and Zach." Trying to change the subject slightly.

"How did they take it?" He moved back to the subject.

"They said they were going to miss me. But are happy for me." I saddened at the fact that that's not what happened when I told Dylan.

"And Dylan?" I didn't want to talk about it.

"He said it was fine." I rudely said.

"Imogen... Come on." I pulled over at the side of the road.

"You want to know what happened? You want to know that bad?" I started to tear up and he saw that.

"Imo-" I cut him off to continue my rant.

"He shouted at me dad! We had an argument. He didn't speak to me for a week. I couldn't bare to face him. He only started talking to me the other day! And honestly... it made me think about not going..." I blurted out all at once. I'm surprised he could even tell what I was saying.

"What... Your mother said you two were fine yesterday?" He sounded shocked.

"We are. We both apologised and we both said we are okay. But... I know he doesn't want me to go." I loosened my grip on the wheel.

"Wait that?" He asked, his hand on my shoulder.

"I could tell by the look on his face. I've known him since I was 5 dad. I know what he's like. He thinks that I won't come back, or that when I do I will just forget about him." Tears started to form in my eyes.

"You won't though. He knows that right?" Hugging me tight I muffled a 'yes' into his chest.

"Come on let's get back then. You have a ceremony to prepare for." I wiped my tears and made my way back to the house.

👣...👣...👣

"Happy Birthday!" Everyone was here. Freya, Zach, Blake, Haley. But no Dylan.

"Awh, thank-you!" I hugged everyone.

"I'd go get ready if I were you. Were going to start getting everything done." My mum told me.

I made my way upstairs and into my room. Sat with his back to me on my bed was Dylan. He turned around and flashed his signature smile. I walked up to him and hugged him tight.

"Thought you'd ditched me." I laughed.

"I know, come sit." I joined him on the bed.

"What's up?" I asked worried.

"I know I was being a bit of a dick about you leaving. For that I'm sorry, but how could I let you leave without saying goodbye." He started.

"Oh... here." he handed me a box. I opened up the box and inside was a bracelet and on it was a little photo of myself and Dylan when we were about 7-8.

"Dylan I- This is- Beautiful." I embraced him again.

"The picture? oh I look amazing right." He joked.

"The bracelet you idiot." I gave it to him and he clasped it around my left wrist. "Thank-you!"

Now, you should get changed. We have a lot to sort out for tonight." He walked out of my room leaving me to look at the picture. I put it in my bag pack with my essentials in.

One week left. One week until I go. I leave what I know. leave what I love. Yes I'm scared, but I'm excited. I really want to do this! Bring it on.
