~~Out With A Bang~~

"IMOGEN!" Nate shouted. I have no idea how but I was in front of him.
"Come on!" I slid over the bonnet and into the drivers seat. Forcing the key into the ignition I turned it and the car started.
"They're getting away!" I heard one faintly shout.
Without strapping in I closed my door and saw Nate reach for the door.
"FIRE AT WILL!" I heard one shout.
Bullets went off all around us. I ducked as Nate closed the door. Just looking at the floor I pushed my foot down on the gas pedal and floored it. The car swerved and bullets smashed the windows but we were getting away.
After I think I hit a fence, we were out of sight of the police for now. I was breathing normally now... Sort of. I hadn't spoke a word neither had Nate. We were just breathing heavily. Then I broke the panicked filled, silence.
"You okay?!" I took a second to look at Nate.
"Yeah." Then my eyes shot back on to the road.
"Good. I thought we were never-" I stopped the car and pulled over. Something didn't look right.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"N-Nate..." I looked at his stomach. "Y-you've been shot..." He was bleeding. Badly.
"Oh shit." He said feeling his wound. His hand full of blood.
"Nate! We need to get you to hospital. I'm turning around." I went to start the car again.
"No. We have come this far. Just get me to the next town!" He demanded.
"But I don't know where we are! I just drove forward. Away from them." I panicked.
"It's fine. Look at me." He took my hands in his blood covered ones. "I'm fine for now. We will fight this." He said.
"You can't fight a bullet Nate!" I was near crying.
"Breath. Then drive." He smiled to comfort me.
"Fine. But here." I undid my belt from my jeans.
"Here? Now?" He joked.
"No." I slipped him a smile as I placed a jumper on his bullet wound and then tied the belt around his waist and lowered his seat back.
"What're you doing?" He asked.
"Don't get comfy, you will fall asleep and won't wake up. Keep talking to me. We need to stop the bleeding and the belt will do it." I informed him and I started the car, once
again then tightened the belt.
"AHHHH!" He cried in pain.
"Sorry, it will cut off the circulation to the wound." I said as I started to drive.
"How do you know this?" He asked wriggling around.
"Stay still, you will hurt yourself. I've been in this situation before." I said.
"Seriously?!" He jumped up, hurting himself.
"No! On TV shoes you asshat." I giggled. "Let's go!" I said as the bleeding didn't stop as much as I had hoped.

"Nate, were here." I pulled over as quick as I could outside the hospital. "Nate..." He didn't answer. His eyes were closed. "No. No. No." I checked his pulse.

It's still there! "Nate... Wake up!" I jumped out of the door and ran to his side.
Carrying him in the hospital with little strength I have I did. Into the waiting room I cried for help.
"Someone help me! He's been shot!" Then, 4 or 5 doctors came and took him off of my hands.
I ran with them as the were putting a mask over his nose and mouth and attaching him onto a machine thing, all while pushing him on a stretcher.
"Pulse?" The doctor asked. One of the nurses mumbled her answer and they sped up.
"Breathing?" Another one asked. Again the nurse mumbled and he nodded.
"Break out room 5 for prep surgery." The first doctor said.
"Bullet is still in there. Don't prep just get into it?" The other one suggested.
"When did this happen?" I assumed he was talking to me.
"Um... A-about... Um... 20 minuets ago... I tried to get here as fast as I could but-" he cut me off and stopped me as they took him into the room.
"You have done a great job. The belt and the jumper was your idea?" He asked.
"Yeah... I-I didn't now what else to do and he wouldn't let me turn back so I stemmed the flow of the blood." I said, panic in my voice.
"Well you did a great job in a situation like that. But you will have to take a seat out here." He said, his hand on my shoulder.
"But, is he going to be okay?!" I asked worry spreading over my face like wild fire.
"We will have to extract the bullet and sow up the wound. It's quite a simple procedure, but he is unconscious at the moment and we up will have to keep an eye on that when he wakes up. Other than that I promise he will be fine." He said to me. Talking to me like I was an adult instead of a child.
"Thank-you. Doctor. Thank-you for this." I said.
"It's my job. But you will have to fill out this form." He handed my a sheet of paper from the side. "It just asks what happened. Basically, where you were, who did it, when... Time wise and the basics." He explained.
"Okay dokay." I went to write but my hand was shaking too much.
"Take your time with it. Do it after if you just want to calm yourself. You and..." He paused.
"Nate. His name is Nate Grey." I told him.
"You two have been through a lot... Who is he to you, if you don't mind me asking?" He asked me.
"It's fine. He is my boyfriend. I'm Imogen. Imogen Sparks." I said.
"You are the two get aways... Correct..." He said. My heart pounded.
"Oh god... Please don't say anything please-" he cut me off.
"I'm not here to say anything, just make sure Nate doesn't die." He smiled and rubbed my shoulder before jointing the other doctors and nurses in the surgery room.
