Before Winfred was Kathleen's documentation of events, it was a multi-perspective story, as my other stories are. Before the book told a story through Kathleen's eyes, a lot of the other characters had voices too. At one point, I toyed with the idea of the story being a duel report, alternating chapters of Kathleen's perspective and Freidrich's perspective. Eventually, I ended up going with the idea of using only Kathleen's perspective, and doing something out of the ordinary from what I normally did, choosing to write a single-perspective story. However, before that final decision was made, some scenes in the story, and some back-story information, was written in the perspectives of other characters. I have separated these scenes into different parts for each character. Von Steubon, as the other main character of the novel, had the most material that was written outside of the book. Even after the decision was made to only use Kathleen's perspective, I still occasionally wrote parts based on the other character's perspective when I needed to test how they would respond to a situation, or when I was feeling writer's block with Kathleen's part. These extra parts will be compiled into a separate section for each character.
I want to ask, if you have not read Winfred, that you would read that before exploring this work. These parts are meant to be a supplement to that novel, and much of what is explained here and much of who these characters are is reliant upon what was established in that novel.
With that being said, I hope you enjoy these extras.
Thank you for reading.
