Chapter 3

~Rest Of September~

Bella and Ashley spoke to no one, not even each other. They stayed in their rooms only leaving to go to the bathroom.

They wanted to be alone. They didn't want anyone, besides from their exes, besides the Cullens, but they left.

Bella constantly looked out the window watching as time went by slowly, too slow for her.

Ashley didn't move from her bed. She stared at the ceiling imagining her life if she never met him.

She thought if she never met him she never would have fell in love and she wouldn't be laying there broke.

What hurt her the most was the lies, the broken promises, the meaningless 'I love yous'.

~October~

During the middle of October Ashley decided enough was enough. She walked out of the house one day shocking Charlie.

She walked for hours not caring where she ended up. She was surprised to find herself sitting in La Push at the beach.

Tears rolled down her face as she thought about Emmett. She missed him, even if he lied to her, him pretending to love her was better than leaving her.

As she sat on the beach she was unaware of the two boys watching her, both wanting to go to talk to her, comfort her.

She went back to school, sitting with her old friends, them talking about anything and everything but never mentioning the Cullens.

~November~

Ashley was still broken she was just hiding it. Bella was still bad, worse than Ashley, but she did go back to school, sitting at the Cullen table, alone.

Jessica would ask Ashley what was wrong but the younger Swan would ignore her. Her sister would recover in her own time. She wasn't going to push her.

~December~

Ashley went to La Push beach with a small smile on her face. The beach felt like home to her, she felt safe.

Her eyes were closed as she laid down in the sand. She never wanted to leave, but of course she couldn't stay forever.

She heard footsteps making her smile. If she was going to die, she didn't really care, everyone dies some day.

"You know you could at least notice our presence" a voice unfamiliar said. "A simple hello" another unfamiliar voice said.

Ashley opened her eyes to see two boys she never saw before, Paul Lahote and Jared Cameron. They were staring at her with their arms folded.

"How can I help you" she asked. "Can we sit" Paul asked. "Sure" she said replied as she stayed laying on the sand.

It was silent. Paul was staring at the girl and she could feel his eyes on her. "Staring is rude" she told him making Jared chuckle.

"Why are in so far from home" Jared asked. "I come here every Saturday and most Sundays" she told him.

They knew that, since if they weren't busy 'working' they would watch her making sure she was okay.

"How did you get here" Jared asked. "I walked" she replied. "You walked? From Forks here" Paul said threw his teeth.

He was annoyed. There was a vampire around and she was casually walking around as if it meant nothing to her. Maybe she didn't know.

Jared nudged Paul slightly. Paul realised he was shaking and stopped. "Why are you two here" Ashley asked making them chuckle.

They weren't about to tell her the truth. That they were watching over her making sure she was okay.

"We live near by. We saw a pretty girl so thought we'd say hi" Jared said making Ashley chuckle slightly. It's a sound that hadn't been heard for a while.

It fell silent again. "Are you looking forward to Christmas" Jared asked her. "I suppose. It's nothing really exciting though" she replied.

"Well I better be on your Christmas list now" Jared said nudging her gently. She laughed making the two boys grin.

"Right I'm going to send a Christmas card to you. What will it say? Hi guy, guys who names I do not know here's a Christmas card" Ashley said and they all laughed.

Ashley liked them. They made her happy. They didn't fill the hole Emmett left but they were making her feel, herself again.

"I'm Jared Cameron and this ugly thing here is Paul Lahote" Jared said making Paul shove him. "I'm Ashley Swan, it's nice to meet you both" Ashley said with a smile making the two boys smile.

Christmas came around and Ashley did send both boys a Christmas card, they sent her one back of course.

It was nice having friends, different friends, her own friends. She liked the boys more than her friends in Forks. They were different and she knew it.

~(Ashley is going to become very close to Paul and Jared. VERY CLOSE. But what will Sam think? The next part will start off where Bella gets out of her depressive stage)~
