I was sitting in third period when I looked up and saw Braylen in the hall way. He was motioning for me to come out. Uh Mr. Thornton can I be excused. No Ms. Rolinson we're in the middle of a lesson. I know that but it's a personal issue, you know a woman issue. Say no more take the pass he said pointing to the pass hanging on the door. I grabbed my bag and the pass and walked out the classroom. About time I've been standing out here for 10 minutes. What do you want Braylen? I wanted to chill with you; you know hang out and catch up. During school hours! Well you know you ain't give me your number since you've been back so how was I supposed to call you? Real slick let's get out this hall way before we get caught. Cool lets head to the gym. The gym! Yeah no one is in there this period so we can chill. Okay but I gotta be back before the end of the period to give the pass back. Naw just slide it under the door lets go. I slid the pass quietly under the door and then we took off down the hall towards the gym.

I can't believe you got me to skip class. You telling me you ain't ever skipped class before? Hell naw ain't nobody got time to be skipping school and get my ass beat. Technically, we didn't skip school cause we still here, just not in the class we were assigned. Well you know my mom is a little crazy so me skipping could get my ass beat. I'll make sure you go to the next class I promise he said as we walked into the gym.

He was right there was no one in there. There's no gym class this period? Nope, Coaches off period. Oh okay, and you what are you doing out of class? I am a senior I only have like 5 classes he said as we walked over to the bleachers and climbed to the top and sat down. So how was Cali? It was good I miss it already, going to the beach whenever and the vibe is so laid back out there. I feel that I was out there last summer for a little bit. Really and why didn't you reach out to, me, I mean you know I am Twitter and IG all of that. Honestly! Honestly I said looking at him. I thought you'd moved on and forget about me? And why would you think that? Well for one everyone was saying "Braylen she's forgotten you, move on!" I never forgot about you, I heard you got a new girlfriend so I just did me you know. Yeah I do he said nodding.

I remember coming to this school for my sister's dance performances. I used to think one day I am going to be here. Sister! Yeah I have sisters, a lot of sisters actually. Really like how many? 6! Whoa 6. Yup, 1 on my dad's side and the other 5 are on my mom's side. How many brothers do you have? 7 brothers. Damn all on one side? Naw only 3 on my mom's side the other 4 are on my dad's side. You get along with your dad? Yeah I do his wife no so much but him I do. You don't like the step mom? Nope her attitude is shitty and she always has something smart to say about my mom and her marriage. Why would she have something to say about that, it ain't none of her business?

Well my mom has an un-traditional marriage. Meaning! She's married to 3 other women. Oh...Ohhh she's...If you ask them they'll say "hell naw they ain't gay" but they've been married for 13 years, so what does that tell you. Wow I mean they know what they like and what they don't. Their love is as we say destined, doesn't matter who came into the picture they always come back to each other. That's dope that means they focused on the bigger picture. Yeah they for sure are they got 9 kids. That's too many kids I couldn't do that. Me either but they can and if they could they'd probably have more.

We talked till the bell rang before going back towards the main hallway where all the kids were buzzing around. So a couple of us are going out after the game on Friday you wanna roll out with us? Where yall going? Dave and Busters for some games you know just low key chill. Can I bring Sasha? As a date! No boy as my friend I said pushing him. Of course she dating my homeboy Marcel so you know she's coming anyway. Alright I'll come, but one thing. And what's that? You owe me a game of basketball. Bet! I gotta go to class I'll see you later. Cha cha wait! Yeah I said looking at him. I need your number you know so I can remind you about Friday night. Give me your phone. He handed the phone to me and I put in my number and then snapped a cute pic of myself before handing it back to him. Really with the pic. That's so you can see my cute face all the time I said before walking away.
