Come on Phil you got this. I can't do it C, I am never gonna need this bull anyway. How do you know you won't need it? Because I am on my second strike before the long stint in juvie, you actually think I am gonna graduate? If you apply yourself yeah you will. I doubt it he said throwing the pencil on the table. For the last year and a half I've been volunteering with the boys and girls club as a part of my community service requirements. At first I was like "What the hell was I thinking" volunteering here with all these bad ass kids? My second day here there was a gang fight and a little girl was stabbed by accident. I wasn't gonna go back but Gigi said in so many words if I didn't go back she'd kick my ass. So here I am back helping kids with their homework and really just being a friend to them.

There is this one kid that I just really connected with, he reminded me so much of myself at his age. The big difference between us is that he lives in the projects of College Park and I don't and never have. We were told not to correspond with them outside of the center, but from time to time I'll meet up with him on the weekends to go do things, basically keep him on the straight and narrow and out the streets.

First one to 10 gets 20 dollars he said dribbling the ball. Okay I said rolling up my sleeves. So outside of school what's going on with you? Nothing my mom is still tripping out on my grades and she found out my 14 year old sister is pregnant. Whoa she pregnant how...some smooth talking nigga told her she was pretty and next thing you know she's pregnant. Damn that's crazy, so is she gonna keep it? My mom told her to have it and give it up for adoption, but she wants to keep it. What does she know about raising a baby? Nothing that's the thing. 2! He said making the layup.

Other than that what's up? I saw you talking to Julian and Craig earlier. You know Julian! Yeah, he and I are acquainted. 2! I said stealing the ball and shooting it. How! How what? How do you know Julian? I mean don't you live in a mansion with butlers and shit. I assure you we ain't ever had a butler or a maid, my aunt made her money the right way. For real I see you pushin that nice ass car. Boy please that's a Toyota Corolla and an old one at that. It's still nice as hell. Cause I keep it up, It's my second car. See that's what I am saying you got 2 cars. No I have 1 car the first one I wrapped around a tree foolin around with Julian and his crew. For real! Yeah I did it's a long story because he wasn't the factor in that situation. What was then?

A girl! Of course bitches al...whoa she not a bitch, that's my girlfriend. Oh my bad I just thought that it was some random. Naw it wasn't. There was just a lot going on and I let some shit get to me that I wouldn't normally. So how did Julian come into play? He ain't know how to respect what want's his. He hit on her? Yeah a few times and then had the audacity to try and kick it with me like we were cool. But I peeped his game day 1 and kept a close eye on him. So what happened? He gave me some spiked shit that had me flipping out on my girl, my family, and my friends. Damn remind me not to take anything from him again he said chuckling.

Phil I can't tell you who to hang with but Julian and his crew aint right. You a good kid and I'd hate to see you end up in some trouble or even worse dead behind the niggas. I feel that he said making the shot. 10! How the hell you get 10 that quick? Easy cause I am the golden child! Here you go I said handing him the 20 dollars. Thank you! Alright let's go back to this Algebra homework.

Mama! Mama I am home! She was nowhere in sight, I shook my head sitting the mail on the table. It was nothing but past due and disconnect notices because she lost her job 2 months ago and still hadn't found a new one yet. I do whatever I can to help out but this drug hustle ain't working out to well for me. I am not cut out for it and they know it to that's why they keep sending me on these bogus ass deliveries.
