I woke up in a soft, feathery bed. I let out a breath. Thank god. The whole scene where I had been forced to go visit the Czech Republic, and my mom abandoning me had all been a dream. I couldn't wait to call my friends and go shopping today.

But when I got up, I noticed that there was someone sitting on the edge of my bed!

"Hey Aurora," Vasile said with an evil smile, and he adjusted the chains on his neck, "Beautiful day, isn't it?"

I screamed, jumping out of the bed. Suddenly, all of the memories came back to me. All six guys living in this house were vampires! And I was going to be their step sister!

"Do you want me to show you the pleasure of being bitten by a vampire?" Vasile asked, stepping towards me. I grabbed a lamp and threw it at his face. Vasile fell back, and I ran out the door. I had to get out of here!

"Going somewhere?" Daniel said, stepping into the end of the hall. I screamed and ran out the other direction. I found the front door and saw it was locked. Fuck! I grabbed a metal spatula and hit it against the window until the glass shattered everywhere. I crawled through the window and fell into a bush. I had a few cuts now from the glass, but I didn't care. I laughed a little, and when I stepped forward, Felix was standing right in front of me.

"Honestly, where are you going to go?" Felix asked, "There isn't a town for miles."

"It doesn't matter," I said, taking out my phone, "I have this at least."

Felix grabbed my phone in inhuman speed and broke it apart.

"Now you don't," he said, and I pushed him with a large force. I ran towards a battered up car, and somehow I managed to get inside it. There were keys on the passenger seat, and I used it to start the car, and I sped away as fast as I could.

Thirty minutes later, I found the local town which looked like some cozy village. Why couldn't mom rent a hotel here? I parked in front of a large cafe that looked oddly like Starbucks.

"Help!" I screamed, "I need help!"

Two men looked at me like they had no idea what I was saying.

"Does anyone know English?!" I cried, fear stabbing into my stomach.

"Excuse me, are you ok?" a girl asked. She looked around my age, and she looked cozy in simple jeans and a t-shirt.

"No," I sobbed.

"Are you new here?" she asked, sweetly.

"Yes, I moved into the Kinsberg castle up that hill," I said, and the girl gasped.

"What?"

"Nothing," she replied, "It is just that there are a lot of rumors about that place."

"Oh, like what?"

"Aurora Stancy! It is time to come back home!"

I flinched as I saw Kaito walking towards us.

"You are coming home right now!" he hissed, grabbing my arm.

"No, why can't I explore this place?!" I cried.

"Oh, don't be a spoiled brat!" he yelled, dragging me to the car.

"Hey, what's your name?" I asked the girl, who sadly looked highly confused.

"Anastazie, but you can just call me Ana. We should meet sometime!"

When we were in the car, Kaito said, "You won't be meeting her."

"What is this, prison?"

"There are rules," Kaito snapped, "We can't risk anyone finding out the truth."

"There seems to be a lot of rumors though, so I don't know what we need to hide."

"Are you saying you are going to break the rules for your own entertainment?"

"That's right! You are all crazy!"

Kaito slammed the breaks of the car. "Get out!" he yelled, "Get out!"

I got out of the car. "There are three simple rules," Kaito explained, "This summer, you will not 1) make friends with the locals, 2) leave the castle grounds, or 3) beg to be a vampire. If you break any of these rules, I will bite you and take away your first bite."

"First bite?" I said "You make it sound like it's losing my virginity."

"It's similar," Kaito mumbled.

These rules were crazy. There was no way I was going to follow them, except for the third one.

"Let's just go back, I understand now," I said, wanting to get the argument over with.

"Alright," he said, and we started to walk back to the car.

We were all sitting at a long dinner table that was filled with mainly meat dishes and what Felix described as "rabbit blood". I was the only one who didn't get any. I looked down at my plate, but everything seemed to be unappetizing.

"If you don't eat, then your blood won't be healthy," Daniel said, looking for me.

"So?" I asked.

Daniel sighed. "You are our prey," he said, "We haven't had human blood for a long time. You are going to have a looong summer with us."

"I'm leaving," Nicholae said, "My head hurts."

Everyone looked at him as he walked away. "What is his problem?" I asked.

"He doesn't really like people or even us," Felix explained.

I sighed , looking down at my full plate. This was going to be a really bad summer. I was in for a ride, and I wasn't looking forward to it.
