"Do you have everything with you?" my mother asked.
"Yes," I replied, looking at my suitcase. "I even have a lot of new souvenirs."
I looked at the window and saw the sun slowly rising. I wondered if I would ever visit this country again. Did I even want to?
"Wow, so this is how an airport looks like!" Kaito yelled, jumping out of nowhere.
"What? Why are you here?!" Ms.Stancy cried.
"I decided that I'm going to come to New York," Kaito declared.
"I don't want you to though," Ms.Stancy hissed.
"I'm two hundred years old; you can't tell me what to do," Kaito said, and he grabbed my hand. "After all, Rory and I belong together."
"What about Vasile?" I asked.
"He decided to stay in the Kinsberg mansion," Kaito explained. "Apparently, he and Ana connected when she took him away, and well, they are a couple now."
"What?" I asked, my eyes popping out. "Ana and Vasile?"
"I know right? Even I didn't see that coming," Kaito stated.
"Are you sure you want to leave your country?" I asked.
"I really don't have a life here anymore," Kaito said. "Plus, I think it is time to visit New York. Do you think I would fit in America?"
"Well, other then your Czech accent, I think you won't stand out," I said with a giggle, and Kaito glared at me.
"There is so much I look forward to doing," Kaito said. "I want to see the Statue of Liberty. I want to walk across Yellowstone. I want to order a drink from an American Starbucks. There is so much I want to do, and I realize that even as a vampire, my time is limited. I don't want to waste anymore of my life being cooped up in a mansion."
"Like Nicholae?" I choked.
"Yeah," Kaito said, squeezing my hand.
I glanced at my mom. Two months ago, she had left me in a strange mansion, full of vampires, to die. Over the summer, I had slowly bonded with all of them, living a life I never imagined to live. My mom had already apologized for everything, and I decided to forgive her. Mr.Kinsberg had really brainwashed her, and even though she had done some horrible things, killing Mr.Kinsberg had actually changed all of it.
"My friends are going to be mad," I said. "I didn't text them for two whole months."
"It's a pity you can't go to New York with Nicholae," Kaito said. "I know you loved him."
I looked at Kaito with a sad expression. "I did, but it's in the past now. I can't dwell on the past for long."
"You are right," Kaito said, looking as sad as me.
"I know you were quite rude to me and crazy, but you were actually a good person," I explained. "You even were going to sacrifice yourself for me. I think I could live with you forever."
"Really?" Kaito asked, looking shocked.
"You have some admirable traits," I teased, and I leaned forward and kissed Kaito on the lips.
"Maybe living in the Kinsberg mansion made you crazy, because you actually were attracted to me," Kaito said, and I laughed.
"You give yourself no credit," I said. "I love you, Kaito Kinsberg."
"And I love you, Aurora Stancy," Kaito responded.

"So this is an airplane?" Kaito asked, putting on his seatbelt.
"You have never been in one?" I questioned.
"I think the more important question is how he got a seat next to us," Ms.Stancy mumbled.
"I may have hypnotized someone," Kaito admitted, fiddling with his Rolex watch.
A few minutes later, the plane was in the air, and Kaito gasped.
"Afraid of heights?" I teased.
"Shut up, this was my first time in a plane," Kaito said, looking out of the window. "Wow, I can still see the town from here."
I looked out of the window, and I could see the mansion, small as a thumb. In a parallel universe, all of the brothers were still alive. Daniel would be complaining about life and smoking pot. Felix would be reading a book about philosophy and the universe. Bora would be laughing and running around. And Nicholae...
I sigh and look uo at the sky. The world is full of infinite possibilities, and I have yet to see enough to leave my own tale behind.
