I ran out of the mansion, tears pouring down my face. I couldn't believe my mom had abandoned me like that. Did she really stop caring about me? It was almost as if she had been brainwashed to be a different person. Now, what was I going to do? I couldn't stay here forever. This wasn't where I belonged, this wasn't my home.
"Want one?" Kaito asked, handing me a cigarette.
"Where did you come from?!" I cried, "And no, I don't."
"Your loss," Kaito said, lighting his cigarette. We just stood there in silence, looking at the night sky as Kaito breathed in the smoke.
"What happened to those two bimbos?" I asked.
"I got bored of them," Kaito said with a shrug, "They are so predictable. They aren't so triggered by everything like you are."
"I'm not triggered by everything!" I cried, "You are just annoying."
"Oh, am I really?" Kaito asked stepping closer, "You seem to be obsessed with me. And you seem to love the dress I picked out for you?"
I looked down at my dress. "You are the one who picked this out?" I asked.
"I know that you let Nicholae bite you," Kaito icily said, "I thought we agreed that only I am allowed to."
"We didn't agree to anything!" I protested, "And I didn't allow Nicholae to bite me!"
"Whatever, you're going to have to pay," Kaito said, storming away. What was with this guy? He had some severe mental issues, that was for sure.
"I heard what happened with your mom," a voice said behind me, and I jumped.
"Felix?"
"Yes," he replied, "I think my dad hypnotized her."
"Well, can you tell him to unhypnotize her?" I asked.
"Ever since he realized what happened to his wife, his relationship with us hasn't been good. I don't think he will listen to us, no matter what we ask. He is an evil person, but none of us have the guts to kill him."
"I don't want to stay here forever," I whined, "Kaito will eventually kill me. I just know he will."
"Staying here woudn't be the end of the world," Felix said, "You wouldn't have to go to school, because we are filthy rich."
I whimpered. "I don't want to stay locked in this house forever. I would rather go to school, and that is saying something!"
"Honestly, you are looking at the negative side of things," Felix said, pushing up his glasses, "You don't have to do presentations, ever. You get a free ticket to every lavish party in town. You get to hang out with six guys all the time, and you won't have to stay away from your beloved Nicholae."
"I don't like Nicholae!" I cried, my face red.
"Sure, sure," Felix said, "You're right, you don't like Nicholae. You love him."
"Shut up!" I yelled, "Ugh, I need a drink. Are you coming with me?"
"I don't think this is a good idea," Felix said, following me as I walked back to the house.
"Me coming here was never a good idea!" I cried, "You don't have to follow me if you don't want to."
"Ugh it's too late, I'm already involved," Felix said. He and I walked to the bar.
"What can I get for you?" the bartender asked, not even caring to ask for my age.
"Um, I'll have a seasoned blood champagne," I said, "It doesn't have real blood in it, right?"
The bartender laughed. "I'll give you the human version," she said.
"I'll just take a fang wine," Felix said.
"A fang wine?" I repeated, "What even is that?"
"Some popular vampire drink," Felix said with a shrug.
I took a sip of the blood champagne and spit it out. "It's disgusting," I said, "It doesn't even taste like real champagne."
Felix laughed. "It was altered to fit a vampire's taste," he said.
"Is it true that Kaito was a better person when he was a human?" I asked.
Felix put down his drink. "Why does it even matter?"
"Because he is such a barbarian right now!" I cried, "But Nicholae said he wasn't like that."
"Yes, it is true," Felix said, "I guess I should show you what happened, so you can see for yourself."
"Wait, what? Show me" said. Suddenly, Felix grabbed my hand and bit into the thumb, and I gasped as the vision in front of me changed....
Sorry for the cliffhanger, you will have to find what happens in the vision next chapter. And wow, this story has reached rank 231 in the vampire genre, and I am very happy for that! ^^ Dont forget to like and vote . Thank you :)
