Ana punched me hard in the face. "I have been waiting here for a while," Ana said. "it is about time you looked in the closet."

"Ana, can we please talk about this?" I asked, stepping back. "You aren't thinking clearly."

"Shut up!" Ana cried, taking a sharp kitchen knife. She struck the knife at me, and I ducked down, and the knife pierced through the wall, causing a large hole. I quickly grabbed a vase as a shield, and Ana struck the vase with a knife. The vase broke into a million pieces all over my room, and she screamed in pain. I took this opportunity to run out of the room, but Ana was quick to follow me.

She threw the knife and it struck my leg. I screamed, falling to the floor. Ana grabbed my hair, but I was able to push her. Unfortunately, the force caused me to fall back which happened to be towards the staircase. I screamed as I fell down the stairs, and I could hear running.

"Kaito..." I mumbled before blacking out.

I woke up in a dark red sofa with a gasp.

"Where am I?" I asked, getting up, realizing my injuries were gone.

"You were asleep for two days," Nicholae responded, stepping out of the shadows. "We thought that you were never going to wake up."

"What happened to Ana?" I questioned.

Nicholae sighed. "Kaito turned her into a vampire."

'What?!" I cried, standing up and then falling down.

"Your body is still weak," Nicholae said, running towards me. "Do you want some water?"

"Why did he turn her into a vampire?" I asked. "She hates vampires!"

"That's exactly why she did it," Nicholae replied. "Plus we need servants since Felix is gone."

"So you decided to make Ana a servant?" I asked, appalled.

"Why not?" Nicholae said with a shrug.

"This is crazy," I said, using the rest of my energy to walk out of the room. I walked to the living room and saw Kaito standing, looking annoyed. In front of him were Ana and George standing quietly.

"George?" I asked. "Why are you here?"

"I found him," Kaito said, looking pleased with himself. "I found the guy who killed Daniel. He was trying to escape to Germany. I decided to let both of you live and be my servants instead."

"There is no way I'm following you!" Ana said. "I would rather find a wooden stake and kill myself!"

"You would want to die at sixteen?" Kaito asked. "I'm offering you a chance to be a vampire without killing anyone! Just leave the hunting to me. I need servants more than ever now that half of my family is dead."

"What if we say no?" George asked.

"Then I will turn you to the human scientists who will torture you for the sake of science without killing you," Kaito replied, his eyes cold with hatred.

George and Ana looked at each other with fear. They had spent their whole lives in a religious family, hating on vampires. Now they were being forced to go against their own morals for survival.

"If your answer is yes then I want you to bow down to me and say I'm your ruler," Kaito stated with an evil laugh.

"Oh my god," I whispered, covering my face from the cringe. Grief was making Kaito crazy.

George and Ana looked at Kaito with pure hatred, and they actually bowed down and mumbled, "You are my ruler."

Kaito flashed an evil smile which actually sent me shivers.

"You guys will be in charge of cooking, cleaning, and basically everything servants should do," Kaito said, walking towards a window. "In return, you will get food, and I'll give both of you rooms. Anyways, right now I want both of you to scrub every floor in this house. They haven't been clean in like a hundred years."

Ana and George rolled their eyes, but they sulked out of the room.

"Ana," I started, "I'm sorry.."

"Save it," Ana snapped. "I don't care what you have to say. Only a con artist can manage to get a family of vampires on their side."

My jaw dropped open as she walked away. Our friendship was over. At this point I was sure that there was no chance left.

"Kaito, were you the one who rescued me at the staircase?" I asked.

"Rory, have you thought of living forever?" Kaito questioned, ignoring my question.

"What are you saying?" I cried, stepping back.

"Do you want to turn into a vampire?"

"Are you crazy?" I asked. "My dream is to go to college and become a lawyer. I want to travel the world and start my own family one day. What I possibly gain from being a lawyer other than being stuck in this house?"

Kaito turned away from the window and looked at me, straight in my blue eyes.

"You could live forever with me," Kaito said.

"Why?" I asked. "Because you want me to?"

To my shock, Kaito actually stepped away from me in what seemed to be fear. "Because..."

"Because why?" I asked. "If you can say why, I'll stay! Just say the three words and I'll stay"

"I..." Kaito started. "I.."

"Yes, go on!" I said.

"I don't love you," Kaito said, flashing me a look of hatred. "Don't get so cocky, not everyone likes you. I enjoy annoying you, because it is fun, not because I like you."

"But I thought you said we were a couple before Bora was killed," I said, tears threatening to fall down my face.

"I only said that out of boredom. Why else would I agree to date a nerd like you? You are not even my type."

"Fine, if that's what you think then there is no point for us to talk anymore," I said, storming out of the room.
