With shaking hands, I opened the letter. It was written in Czech, and I cursed underneath my breath. I grabbed my phone so that I could google translate it, but my phone was dead.

Shit I thought. My charger was upstairs in my room. I tiptoed out of the kitchen and found Vasile standing in front of the stairs.

"Hey babe!" he yelled at me, "Want to do something fun with me?"

"I'm not your babe," I said, "And I don't think I want to know what your definition of fun is."

"Relax, I was just going to ask if you wanted to watch a movie with me," Vasile said, "I just bought a flat screen t.v."

"You bought a flat screen t.v.?" I questioned, feeling excited. Ever since I had moved here, I had been bored out of my mind since there wasn't a single t.v. in the house.

Vasile nodded. "I bought it for you," Vasile responded, "I know how much you 21st Century children love your television."

21st Century children? That was definitely an odd way off putting it.

"What movie did you get?" I asked.

"Fantastic Beasts, Vasile replied, "Is it even good?"

"Listen, I'll watch it with you, but I need to do something first," I begged.

Vasile looked at piece of paper that I was holding in my hand and frowned. "What is this?" he asked, grabbing it from my hand.

"I don't know," I said, "I was wondering if you could translate it for me."

"Fine," Vasile said, rolling his eyes, "Dear, Felix. I am deeply sorry that you were forced to spend the entire night in the dungeon. The whole thing was my fault. I should have just done what she had said even though it was immoral and wrong. I imagine a world where all the six of us can live in peace. We would be able to do whatever we want, and we would have no parents to dictate us! We wouldn't have to wear those uncomfortable clothes or remember every rule in the manners book. I know that I should tell you this in person and not through a letter, but the sad truth is that I have been considering suicide! I don't want to live in such a cruel and bleak world where I am forced to obey harsh rules, but I cannot leave you and the rest of my brothers. I love you all, and we must stick together if we want to prevail. I swear that one day I will get revenge for you, no matter how hard it is going to be for me. ---Kaito"

"Are you seriously crying?" Vasile asked.

I wiped the tears from my eyes. Why was I even crying? "Did Kaito really feel that depressed?" I asked.

"He did," Vasile said, "He was pressured into becoming this town's governor. All the stress and sadness caused him to become insane."

"It's like he can't even control himself anymore," I said.

"It sounds to me like you feel bad for him," Vasile said, "Don't be. There is no justification for what he has done."

"I know," I replied, "I don't know why I feel bad."

Vasile sighed and threw me a jar filled with blood. "Take this for Kaito for me," he said,"I don't want Kaito to starve to death."

"Um ok."

The dungeon was pitch black. I had to grab two flashlights, and even then I could barely see anything. I could hear the tiny footsteps of mice and other rodents. I shivered, stepping inside.

"Kaito!" I yelled, "Where are you?!"

"Over here," a voice rasped, and I followed the voice to a cell. I screamed, dropping the flashlight. Kaito looked like a skeleton with a thin layer of skin on top, and his face looked blue. His hair had turned white, and he smelled like decaying flesh.

"Do I really look that bad?" Kaito whispered with a weak chuckle.

"You look like a zombie," I said, slowly opening the door and giving him the jar of blood. Kaito drank the entire jar of blood and almost instantly, his hair turned black again, and his skin turned back to its original form.

"Oh, that feels so much better," Kaito said, closing his eyes.

"I'm glad you liked it," I said standing up, "I'm going to leave now."

In inhuman speed, Kaito grabbed my foot and I screamed, falling down.

"I'm still hungry," Kaito said icily.

"Well my blood isn't for sale today," I said, feeling stupid. Why hadn't I left before he drank the blood? I was so dense for thinking he would want to talk.

"I'm not buying, I'm stealing," Kaito said, and he bit into my neck.

"Let me go!" I cried, "Why do you always do this? I'm a girl, not food!"

To my surprise, Kaito actually let me go, and drops of blood fell onto the floor.

"Why can't you see me as your equal?!" I demanded.

"Because you are a human," Kaito said, "Did you talk to that chicken you ate a few days ago? No, you didn't! This is the same thing! You are nothing to me, nothing!"

"You're the only one in this house that thinks that way!" I protested, "In fact Nicholae even confessed that he likes me. I think I'm going to tell him that I like him back. It is nothing like animals and hu-"

I was interrupted, because Kaito forcefully pushed me against the wall and kissed my lips. I was so shocked that I stood there, frozen in place, as his cold lips were pressed against mine. He then kissed my nose, my cheeks and lastly my neck, ironically where he had bitten me.

"You may not be equal to me since you are a human," Kaito said, "But remember this. You are mine. Not Vasile's, not Felix's, and definitely that loser Nicholae's. What do you see in him anyways? He is as boring as a box."

"He may be boring, but he is nicer than you will ever be!" I said.

Kaito laughed, and he kicked the cell door which fell down. "Freedom, here I come!" he yelled.
