"Why did you leave?" I asked Vasile. He was standing on the porch, staring at the moon.

"I can't believe you guys are creating jokes when Felix is dead," Vasile said.

"Vasile, I'm sorry," I said. "We all do care."

"Aurora, I think there is something wrong with you," Vasile stated.

"What?"

"Do you really like Kaito?" Vasile asked, "because if you do, then I think you need help. He is a physco killer who only hurts people, and you are no exception! He bit you so many times and even bit you without your permission. The only thing left is rape. Are you going to let him do that too?"

I was not this kind of person, but Vasil's words hit me hard, and I started to cry. Tears trickled down my face and onto the ground.

"I know that Kaito is a bad person," I said. "I know that he is cold hearted and that he lacks empathy. But I can't help but like him. I can't help it!"

More tears fell down my face, and to my surprise, Vasile hugged me, bringing my face to his chest.

"I'm sorry for yelling at you," Vasile said. "I was kind of hoping you would say I was wrong."

"I wish you were wrong," I said. "I wish."

"Where is everyone?" I asked Nicholae, walking back to the main room.

"They went hunting for food," Nicholae said.

I looked up at the rising sun. Thanks to living with vampires, I was beginning to sleep during the day.

"Oh god, I'm not looking to sharing a room with Kaito," I groaned.

"I doubt Kaito will be in the room, because he barely went to his own room back at our house," Nicholae said. Knowing Kaito, he probably was only going to come to taunt me.

"Nicholae, why do you like me?" I asked, looking at the floor.

"Because you are better than all those shallow vampires that visit our house on special occasions," Nicholae said. "Plus, I like talking to you. No one else likes to talk to me. They all care about superficial things."

"Do you see a future for yourself?" I asked. "Away from the Czech Republic?"

"I don't know," Nicholae replied, "but with the way things are going, I'm probably going to have to move."

"If you have to move then come with me to New York," I said, and I kissed Nicholae on the lips. He kissed me back, and it was a passionate and slow kiss. I don't know why I kissed him. I did like him, but unfortunately, it wasn't the same as what I felt with Kaito.

"What are you two doing?" Ms. Stancy demanded, walking into the room.

"Um..." Nicholae and I said, jumping at the same time.

"Aurora, what happened to you?" Ms. Stancy asked. "You always hung out with your two best friends without caring about boys, and now you are in a relationship with six brothers?"

"This is honestly all your fault," I said. "Why did you abandon me? How could you?"

"You make it sound like it's a bad thing," Ms. Stancy said, "but in reality, you are the luckiest girl in the whole world."

I don't think being held captive in a house and having my best friend trying to kill me is considered lucky.

"The sun is coming up, so it is time for us vampires to go to sleep, "Ms. Stancy said, looking at a window. "Nicholae, could you show Aurora her room?"

Nicholae nodded and grabbed my hand.

"This way," Nicholae said, leading me up the stairs, and I blushed from the fact that we were holding hands. I looked down to see my mom glaring at me, disappointment clearly evident on her face.
