I walked up a flight of stairs until I reached the door to the attic. I opened the door and dust poured into my face. I coughed and closed it behind me.

"Did anyone follow you?" Nicholae asked.

"Nope, I made sure," I replied.

"Ok good," said Nicholae, and he handed me a brand new rose gold iphone, "I was able to get you this."

How had he gotten this if they had no money?

"Thank you," I said. I opened the phone and set up a couple of apps. When I opened Instagram, I saw that Ana had followed me a while ago. I followed her back, and I immediately got a message.

Ana: Hey! How are you?

Me: I'm good. Still in the house tho.

Ana: With the demons?

Me: Lol, yep....

Ana: Did u hear what happened?

Me: No

Ana: Someone was killed today. I think someone from ur house did it.

"Nicholae," I said, "This girl thinks someone in this house killed a villager."

"Don't be ridiculous, we don't kill," Nicholae said, "It is against our code."

A chill went up my spine. "What would happen if one of you did?"

"He would be kicked out," Nicholae said, "That is the one rule we have that is strict."

"I see..."

"Besides if one of my brothers were to turn into killers, then I would protect you," Nicholae said, stepping closer to me.

"Nicholae..." I said. Suddenly, I felt the urge to kiss him. He had been nice to me so far. No guy in New York had been this nice to me before. But I couldn't help but step back. Nicholae was a vampire.

"Let's go back," I said, turning around.

"Don't forget to hide your phone," Nicholae warned, and I nodded.

Wow, who knew that there was an indoor pool in this house? I had stumbled across this random room and was shocked to see a pool full of water. I stepped closer to it, and suddenly, a pale hand came from the pool and grabbed my foot. I screamed as it dragged me to the water. The moment I fell into the water, I quicky swam to the surface.

"You should have seen your face," Vasile joked with a laugh, also coming to the surface.

"You fucktard!" I screamed, splashing water at him, "Give me back my shoe!"

"You are going to have to catch me first," Vasile stated, swimming to the other side. Ugh. I chased after him for a full twenty minutes, and then I gave up.

"Now that you are here, we might as well drink smoothies together," Vasile said, handing me a glass of pink smoothie.

"Fine," I snapped, and we both drank our smoothies in silence. At this moment, I was glad I had left my phone in my room.

"So why did your mom leave you here?" Vasile questioned.

"I don't know; she seems to have stopped caring about me," I replied, thinking about how she hadn't replied to my texts, "But we were so close."

"That's my father's charm," Vasile explained with a chuckle, "He can make people forget about what they are about."

"That's horrible," I said, staring at my smoothie.

"Hey, don't be sad," Vasile said, "You at least have us six to keep you company. Even if we aren't the best to be around, we don't ditch each other like your mom did."

"You know," I started, "You aren't that bad of a person after all."

Vasile laughed, slurping the rest of his smoothie. "I may be annoying," he said, "But even I have a normal side."

"I heard that a villager got murdered," I said, "Do you think any of your brothers did it?"

"Well, I doubt any of us would do something like that," Vasile said, "But if it was, it has to be Kaito."

"You think Kaito is a killer?" I whispered.

"I know that he bit you," Vasile said, "Your choker fell off in the pool."

"Oh," was all I could say.

"He's going to kill you if you stay here for longer," Vasile said, sadly.

"But he won't let me leave," I cried.

"Tomorrow, I'll drive you away."

"What?"

"I will take you away from this place, tomorrow," Vasile said, looking at me.

Oh my god.
