Chapter 45- Jackson County

Henry got up with his brothers help, and lead us into the town that had the radio tower.

What we found was a sniper that almost took our heads off.

I snuck to one of the house's and shot the fucker with no scope.

And right when we thought we were in the clear, we were attacked by infected.

We all managed to get away from the attack in one piece, or so we thought.

The next morning, we found out that Sam was bitten when he started to attack Ellie.

Henry put him down, and before we could say anything Henry turned the gun to himself and committed suicide.

In the end, it left us scared for life.

( Ellie's P.O.V.)

( A few weeks later)

" Jackson County," I said as we approached a big sign that read " Jackson County. Does that mean we're close to Jackson City?"

" It should only be a few miles away," Joel said as he walked passed me. " Come on Quill, keep up."

My attention turned to the slouching, messy haired Quill, as she pulled herself up from climbing a rock.

" You alright?" I asked her, as she caught up with us and started walking again.

" Just thinking about something." She said in a low tone.

" You want to talk about it?"

" You've already heard the story," She practically mumbled. " Plus, I doubt you want to hear about my boring life problems anyway."

She started speed walking, and so did I, trying to keep up with her as much as possible.

" So much for the road," I heard Joel say, as he came to a halt. " Looks like were taken' a shortcut."

We dropped down to the river bank and started using that as a sense of direction.

" What happened between you guys?" I blurted, trying to cut to the chase.

" You know the whole story," Quill mumbled. " The important parts."

" We had a bit of a disagreement," Joel told me. " I saw the world one way, and he saw it another. You can thank your friend Marlene for that. She promised him hope. It kept him busy for a while, but just like Tommy, he eventually quit that too, just like he did being a Father."

" How was it?" I asked, as I looked over at the depressed looking Quill, then back at him. " The last time you saw him?"

" I believe his last words were " I don't want to see you god damned face ever again".

" Jeez. Are you sure he will help us?"

" I suppose we're going to find out."

" Well, with or without his help, we'll get there." Quill mumbled.

" Let's just keep goin'," Joel said. " We're wasting time."
