Ellie took two of the three down while I took down one with a shiv.
" Their's always more." I exhaled, as I heard three more voice's coming from a building a few yards away.
" You think we can shake these guys?" Ellie asked. " I don't like the idea of us killing everyone we come across."
" I'm just trimming their numbers down."
15 minutes later
" To the edge of the universe and back," Ellie said. " Endure and Survive."
" Excuse me?" Uncle Joel asked as we entered a house that we could use for a safe house.
" Savage Starlight."
" It's out of one of the comic series were reading," I explained. " It's what the hero says after a big battle."
" Endure and survive, huh?"
" Sounds stupid I know, but it does kind of relate to our lives, now at least."
" That could be your new catchphrase."
" What's the old one?" Ellie asked.
" Life's a bitch, deal with it."
