Chapter 29- Duck tape can fix anything
Uncle Joel was done with the scavenging in 15 minutes and met back up with us.
Walking through a small alleyway, we found a truck, 2 arrows that were sticking out of a dead body, and a latter.
" You think you'll be able to climb that thing?" Uncle Joel asked me.
" Yeah," I answered. " It feels better since I rested it."
Uncle Joel climbed up first, then me, then Ellie.
" Score," I said as I picked up a bow that was behind a couch that was sitting on the top of the truck. " Hey Ellie, yo-"
" No," Uncle Joel said. " Just leave this stuff to me and-"
" The only thing she has is a switch, and that will not kill anything unless it's up close. Plus, she's been helping us out, and she's doing a great job."
" Fine, just do it on your own time."
With Ellie's help, I crossed the plank we had to cross with no problem and climbed up another latter.
" We gotta use that plank we just used," Uncle Joel said as he turned around. " Watch out."
Right when I stepped on the plank, it cracked.
" Go ahead and head across, El. This thing's gonna break."
" I'm not going anywhere. Just slow down a little."
Helping me across, a clicking sound started up.
I handed the bow to Ellie once we crossed the plank.
" Have you shot one of these things before?" I asked her, as she put an arrow in.
" Not really."
" Take your time to aim, it's not going anywhere."
She exhaled and fired.
The arrow smacked into the Clickers head fungus and broke in half.
" Sorry." She apologized.
" It's fine, I can tape it back together. Aim for the neck area."
Exhaling again, she fired straight at the neck and it went straight in, and the Clicker fell right over.
