Chapter 54- It came I like a wreaking ball
" There's our way in." Ellie said as she pointed at a hole in the lab's building.
" Let's see, this will work." I said as I started pulling a trash bin and putting it on the edge.
I pushed it over, and we used it to climb the white eighteen wheeler that would help us get into the building through the hole Ellie pointed out.
" Let's have a look around." Uncle Joel said as we stood up.
" Yoohoo!" Ellie yelled. " Fireflies! Cure for mankind over here! Anyone!?"
" Let's keep it down until we know what's going on." I told her.
" There are no bodies, that's good, right?"
" If we figure out where they went."
" Shit!" Ellie exclaimed after a light stand fell. " Was that a Clicker?"
" I can go check it out," I told them.
I opened the door to find monkeys.
" What is it?" Joel asked.
" Monkeys."
" No Fireflies either. Well, maybe because of all the research they turned into fucking monkeys."
" Just keeping searching. We'll find something."
Uncle Joel found a tape recorder and turned it on.
The scientists kept on babbling about their discovery's until he got bit by one of the monkeys.
It cut off there.
"I'm sure glad we didn't mess with those monkeys." I said.
