Chapter 44- Get ready for the smackdown!
" Something funny?" Henry asked.
" Just seems like there are a lot of people these days putting faith in the Fireflies these days." Uncle Joel told him.
" Yeah, and maybe there's a reason for it."
" The only thing they do is take people away from their family's." I said. " That's all their good for. I doubt you know where they even are."
" How about we mind each others business?" Henry asked, " Huh?"
" Easy," Uncle Joel said. " Were lookn' for the Fireflies too."
Henry looked at us weird, then took a map out.
" This is us," Henry pointed at a spot on the map. " There is an abandoned military radio station just outside the city. That's our only chance we got at contacting them. If you and your girls want to join us, we go tonight."
" I guess we rest up then." Uncle Joel said.
We snuck right past the ass holes and were home free, or so we thought.
Next thing we knew, we were being shot at by a tank, and we were ditched by Sam and Henry when we tried to get away.
We got to the bridge and ended up having to jump off.
I tried to keep Ellie afloat, but I got knocked out by a rock.
I'm guessing Uncle Joel got knocked out too because I heard a loud noise seconds before we got knocked out.
( Joel's P.O.V.)
I woke up to Quill yelling her head off and sounds of thuds.
" Stop it, Quilla!" Ellie yelled. " We would be dead if it wasn't for them."
" That doesn't give them a reason to ditch us El!"
" And just because your pissed doesn't mean you have to kill a guy!"
I jumped up and grabbed Quill before she killed Henry.
" Let me go!" I yelled. " That motherfucker deserves it!"
" You had a good chance of making it, and you did," Henry said, as he caught his breath.
His face was bruised a little, and his nose was crooked.
" Coming back would have put him at risk." Henry continued.
" If you hadn't ditched us in the first place, this wouldn't have happened!"
" We saved you."
I broke free from Uncle Joel's grasp.
" You try anything like that again, and I will beat you to a pulp! That's not a threat, that's a promise. Clear?!"
" Cristal," Henry answered.
