"Knew it" He smiled. I looked down and noticed the wallet was gone from my front pocket.
He had taken it.
"Now, go ahead and reunite with your friend. Pretty sure she's waiting for you."
I rolled my eyes, at his dad-like response. I turned my heel and just when I was about to walk away, he grabbed my wrist, pulling me back to him.
His lips dangerously close to mine.
"Meet me in the parking lot, after class" He whispered in my ear, and let my wrist go, smirking. I covered my reddish cheeks with my long straight hair, and went to go get something to eat.
The sound of my apple was heard, and my loud groan followed. I rested my head on my palm, while I silently chewed the apple piece in my mouth.
Jannie, being the friend that she was, laughed at the previous incidents that I had told her the second I got to her table. The one thing I did not tell her, however, was the fact that Ethan wanted to meet me at the parking lot, after class.
I thought it'd be irrelevant information to be told.
"Stop laughing you hoe" I groaned louder, furrowing my eyebrows at her as I took another big bite of my red apple.
"Alright, snow white, chill." She chuckled and took a bite of her pineapple pizza. "Here" She said with her mouth full, handing me 50.
"But I didn't complete the dare" I stated, raising my eyebrow at her.
"You still tried" She laughed, making me roll my eyes and laugh along with her. I grabbed the 50 and slid it into my back pocket this time.
"Thanks" Ignore the fact that I mumbled, I was still really appreciative.
If it weren't for those 50, I wouldn't have had any other option but to go back to my worst nightmare, or what people would call home.
Where my foster parents lived was no home to me. Nor it will ever be.
Something inside me told me to follow Mr. Ethan's instructions. Perhaps it was the thrill, or the mystery I had witnessed in those hazel eyes of his. Whatever it was, it made me follow his demands.
Waving goodbye to my friend, I shut my locker close and made my way to the parking lot. It was a sunny day, no clouds were seen.
My eyes wandered around to the many cars parked. It amazed me how many rich people attended that poor, ordinary public school. There were Audis, Mercedes and BMWs among regular, low-priced cars. I had to admit, I was slightly envious of the many spoiled brats running around school.
Since Ethan was nowhere to be found, I decided to lean to the nearest wall, and calm myself with my one and only remaining cigarette.
I held it in between my lips and lit it up, letting the smoke leave my mouth as I shoved the lighter back to my pocket.
"Missed me beautiful?" I heard from behind.
I instantly recognised Ethan's voice. But I did not panick. Or at least, I managed not to. I simply took another puff and turn my head to look at him.
"You're late" I blew the smoke out and he smirked.
"Oh c'mon, lets not be so harsh around each other" He chuckled, placing a cigarette between his lips and stood right in front of me, interrupting my hunt for the most inexpensive car.
I rolled my eyes and took another puff.
"I'd be a little bit nicer, if I were you"
He stretched his arm out, placing it beside my head to lean against the wall as he connected the tip of his cigarette with mine, lighting it up.
Once it did, the smirk reappeared and the smoke vanished into thin air.
"I don't see the need to be" I raised an eyebrow.
He chuckled. "You do recall what happened earlier today between you and I, don't you?"
"What about it?"
"Babygirl, everybody knows that act is considered thievery"
"Meaning?"
"You could go to jail"
I scoffed, taking another puff. "I'm underage"
"Are you now?" He smirked, mocking my movements as he took another puff. I looked away, slightly annoyed, for he had caught me lying. "Even if you were, you still could go to jail. Or your parents could" He shrugged.
"How do you know" I asked about how he could have possibly known my age, almost inaudibly.
"I got my ways" He smiled proudly, and threw the cigarette to the floor, stepping on it afterwards.
"Now," He trailed off and ran a hand through his long hair, licking his lips in the process. "Since I reckon you don't wanna be heading to jail anytime soon, I'm offering you a deal"
I clenched my jaw, and kept my mouth shut. I had no other option, but to simply follow his orders.
"You'll have your freedom, as long as you befriend one specific someone. I'm sure you've heard of him." He stated, mumbling the last part and removed his hand from the wall, shoving it into his pockets instead.
I furrowed my eyebrows. "Who"
This was the beginning of it all. I remember his name still being fresh in my mind.
"Grayson Dolan."
