My eyebrows furrowed and my eyes slowly opened, adjusting themselves to the brightness of the room. Then Jack appeared in front of me, scratching the back of his head nervously.
"What" I groaned, rolling to my side and closing my eyes again.
"Um, it's Grayson"
My eyes opened wide as I sat up quickly, removing the covers from my body. "What?!"
"He's fine, he's just acting a little weird" Jack said.
"What do you mean he's acting weird, Jack fucking explain yourself please" I rubbed my temple. It was too early in the morning. I had no time for bullshit.
"He's sitting down by the stairs. He won't say a thing."
I groaned and stood up. I ran a hand through my messy hair and went out. I saw Grayson's back facing me.
"Hey" I greeted.
"Hey."
"What's wrong?"
"I was just thinking about last night" He said, finally turning his head to look at me. "I got out of control, I snapped at Ethan and I-I"
"Grayson" I placed my hand on his shoulder. He frowned as his lips quivered.
"Oh, baby" I pulled him into a hug, letting him cry on my shoulder. Little sobs were heard. Once he calmed down, he pulled away from the hug and wiped the tears away from his eyes.
This, was the Grayson I knew,
and he was back.
"I'm so sorry for acting that way, I-I don't know what got into me"
"Gray, It's fine. You were drunk. I'm sorry I wasn't there by your side when you needed me" I apologized. Truly, this was all my fault. If only I hadn't had sex with Ethan, that wouldn't have happened.
Silence came over to us, before he revived the conversation again,
"Where were you last night?"
My heart skipped a beat when I heard that question. I looked away, and pinched the bridge of my nose.
"I was in the party, I came in with you, remember?"
"Yeah" He trailed off "But then, you disappeared, like you went somewhere or something" He shrugged, playing with the black ring on his finger.
"I couldn't find you" I lied again.
It was sad, but I had to kept lying to him. Until my job here was done, there was nothing I could do.
That night I took care of the business Dom talked to me about. I received fat amounts of cash from a client in exchange of multiple types of drugs, then went to work.
Grayson apologized to Ethan, and Ethan apologized to him as well. Everything was back to normal again. Or so I thought
