Everything was going according to plan. Ethan gave me the cash that I needed, while Grayson and I became a little closer in terms of friendship.
Comparing old days to the current days, I'd say he was definitely in a better shape. Physically and mentally. He was a lot happier and giggly, which really made my heart melt.
Although, guilt was beginning to kick in, but I decided to ignore it, for I still needed the money.
The story I told Grayson was true, however, it did hold many holes in it. For example, me not telling him that I had also been abused by people, other than my parents.
I was seeking revenge. Therefore I needed as much cash as I could possibly earn to carry out a plan that could work to finally defeat them and give justice to the people that deserved it.
Using Grayson was wrong, but it was the only way, and the only oppotunity that had shown up. I was determined to proceed, and not let any chances go.
"What do you wanna do today, Gray" I asked, lighting my cigarette up.
We sat on the grass, him watching the smoke leave my mouth as I simply stared up, at the sky. There was something special about him. Something words couldn't even describe.
It was like a magnetic force that once it connected us, it made us unseperable.
And the thing was, I didn't want us to be separated. Perhaps this was the blooming of what people called love.
"Just tell me more about yourself" He leaned his body back, hands against the grass.
My face turned to look at him. "More? I've literally told you my whole life" I chuckled. But those were nothing more and nothing less than little white lies.
Although, I'm guessing he knew, by the look in his face.
"Alright" I gave in. "I'm not the person you think I am, Gray"
He kept silent. Listening, as I proceeded to talk.
"I'm selfish. Judgemental. Reckless." I took a puff. "I still don't know how you allow yourself to trust a person like me"
I admitted truthfully. After that sentence, my thoughts wouldn't just sit still. They ran around in circles, leaving me with such anxiety.
A dog came over to me, wagging its tail as if it were saying hi to me. I smiled at the little creature before me, and placed my hand on his head to pet him.
"You really don't get it still huh?" He laid back, forearms behind his head.
I kept caressing the dog, until it was called by its owner and ran.
"I can see that you're not evil. And that you don't wanna be. Something's simply holding you back. I don't know what it is, yet. But once you open up to me, perhaps things will be different. Much more different for the both of us"
I did not understand that tight feeling that wrapped around my heart. It tugged on it, making me feel somewhat relieved.
As if I finally found surface from a deep ocean I'd drowned in for years.
