"Hey you!" Ethan grinned, removing his graduation hat.

I turned to him and smiled. "Hey"

"Since we graduated already, I got you a little something" He handed me a little box. I opened my mouth to say something, but then shut it as nothing came out.

Instead, I raised an eyebrow at him. "What is this Ethan" I asked, holding back a chuckle.

"Just open it!" He insisted. The smile still spread across his lips. I rolled my eyes and smiled as I began to rip the gift wrap off the box.

"You seriously shouldn't have" I smiled in awe. Once all the gift wrap was removed, I opened the box slowly and my heart almost fell from what my eyes were seeing.

My jaw dropped as my happy tears blurred my vision. "Ethan what-"

"It's a promise ring" He pointed and smiled. "A promise that I will always be by your side no matter what."

"But-"

"Look, Raine, ever since I saw you, I could not keep my eyes off of you. I fell for you. I just didn't know it yet. I've been with you through the worst things that had happened and I don't plan on ever leaving your side. I still wanna be with you, despite all the things we've been through, all the pain and the hurt. Now there's only good left to witness and experience. So Raine Hernandez," He took a deep breath

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

I covered my mouth as I was taken aback. I was not expecting this from Ethan, at all. I was experiencing so many emotions at that instant, I couldn't even say a proper sentence.

"Oh my god" I cried. "I- yes" I breathed.

He smiled from ear to ear and took the ring, sliding it into my finger. It was a beautiful, silver ring. A simple one, but still beautiful.

While I hugged Ethan, the thought of Grayson flashed through my mind.
