To Reclaim Which Was Lost

The Water Celestial Mizuko stood in the clearing of the garden. Becoming completely engulfed in the fragile beauty of this world. She had left the Celestial Realm many times but to linger this long was quite new to her. The air,the chirping of birds around her. And the sound of humans going about their daily lives across the globe without the slightest realization that on their very soil they held royalty. For Princess Shizuka of the Moon has taken shelter with the humans. And grown quite attached to them especially one as of late that Mizuko had seen with her very eyes.

Shizuka was always a quiet and gentle soul and it seemed to be just as apparent when it came to a single human child. A young girl called Rin. Yes,Mizuko saw the look of pure love in Shizuka's eyes when she would see the girl. It was almost too much. It was something that should not be. But in order for Mizuko to tap into Shizuka's dormant powers then using the girl would have to do. Mizuko was never one to get her hands dirty but time was not on her side. The sooner Shizuka retrieved her powers the sooner the could return home to save the Moon.

Sighing lightly Mizuko awaited silently in the garden. Awaiting for the chance to see Rin once again skipping in the garden giggling happily. Mizuko quietly appeared behind the young girl who was too busy picking flowers to realize she was near. But the sound of someone calling her name immediately snapped Rin out of her playtime mode. "Rin! Rin!" Called out a gentle female voice causing Rin to smile and utter the words "Mommy is calling me." Slowly Rin Rose to her feet with a fairly large bouquet of wild flowers.

"Coming!" Rin called out to Shizuka before turning around only to see the blue haired Celestial Mizuko from the previous night. Dropping her flowers Rin tensed up at the very sight of Mizuko remembering the strange way she could turn her body into water. "M-Mommy is waiting for me."Rin muttered her body trembling in fear before Mizuko. "I know,but for now I need you to play a game with me." Mizuko said hoping a game would not frighten the poor girl anymore.

"A-A game?" "Yes,a very important game that Mommy will want to play too." Mizuko continued using a childlike voice that already seemed to be luring Rin in. " I want to play with Mommy." "Good,now all you have to do is close your eyes and count to 10."Mizuko informed the naive Rin who happily agreed. Eagerly closing her eyes while counting aloud to Mizuko to hear. "10,9,8,7-" Rin began as already Mizuko was preparing for this. She knew this would be hard for Shizuka to understand but it was for her benefit.

In order to regain her true power,a Celestial had to go through turmoil. Losing someone precious was the only way to trigger this. Mizuko just hoped she would understand her actions. As Rin uttered the final number to the countdown Mizuko merely flicking her fingers as Rin was suddenly overcome with a sudden drowsiness. She grumbled before calling out for her mother once more before giving into The dreamless sleep. Mizuko then caught the sleeping child in her arms before peering down to her innocent face. She kept telling herself this had to be done,that nothing else could be helped but Mizuko knew this was wrong. But there was no turning back. Quietly Mizuko bid water to encase to unconscious Rin,careful to create an air bubble big enough for her to survive for a time but nothing more.

Now all she needed was Shizuka. But that didn't take long as Shizuka was already pacing around the garden anxious to find her Rin. She called out her name relentlessly trying her best to steady her beating heart but it did little good. Unable to think of what else to do she called for Sesshomaru. Hearing her cries Sesshomaru appeared by her side as he too seemed Abit flustered at the realization that Rin was missing. "I smell her,let's go."Sesshomaru informed Shizuka. Allowing her to climb on his back as he raced through the forest. Following the scent of Rin to a strange clearing where encased in a body of water was Rin herself.

Shizuka ran towards the strange body of water,crying out for Rin as she dared to reach her hand inside to reach her. Only to have a sudden surge of electricity strike her down. Wracking her entire body with pain,Shizuka gritted her teeth before pulling away from the dangerous cage. Holding onto her now burned hand which continued to sizzle and crackle with the remaining electric current. "What the hell is this?" Shizuka questioned aloud as Sesshomaru carefully observed the water knowing that this was infact no ordinary water. "This isn't just regular water its-" Sesshomaru began as he was suddenly encaged by water as . Which began to shock his body with an even more powerful electricity then Shizuka had endured.

Shizuka cried out for Sesshomaru as the pain was oh so evident on his face. Gritting hit teeth Sesshomaru fought the urge to change his form. Not sure if that would either help is situation or damage it even more. For already he could smell his own flesh burning around him. Sesshomaru dared to touch the electricity filled water where Shizuka could see. She gently drew closer to him as Shizuka fought her brimming tears. "Why is this happening?" Shizuka muttered as she struggled to hold back her cries. "Forgive me Princess."Spoke of female voice who's voice seemed to echo around Shizuka.

"This had to be done."The voice continued as from the water cages water began to collect from them. Shizuka took a few steps back as the but of water twisted and turned before taking the form of none other than Mizuko with a sorrowful expression on her face. "Please forgive me Princess I had no choice." Mizuko stated refusing to make eye contact with the confused and distraught Shizuka. Shizuka swallowed a large lump in her throat before turning to face Mizuko. Shizuka's eyes burning with the desire to end this charade at that very moment.

"No choice? How dare you?! You abducted Rin,and hurt Sesshomaru. You cannot be forgiven."Shizuka stated coldly as a sudden rush of silver flames seemed to erupt from the ground around Shizuka. Crackling around her as her glare seemed to send shiver down Mizuko's spine. This was just a taste of her power,and with her noble sacrifice it would be done. "You cannot care for these creatures my lady. They are beneath you,you are a God. You shouldn't mingle with the help."Mizuko declared boldly as water particles began collecting at her finger tips. Ever so slowly the water took the form of a blue and silver naginata. Which Mizuko aimed at Shizuka without missing a beat. "Being with them is an abomination! A sin against our Mother!" Mizuko screamed as she charged towards the flame covered Shizuka.

Shizuka remained still finding it unnecessary to move as the flames seemed to move on sheer instinct. Protecting Shizuka from any harm even from another Celestial. As Mizuko angrily tried to slice away Shizuka's flames,Shizuka took a single small cinder within her hands. Clasping it to her chest the cinder began to burn brighter than ever before engulfing Shizuka's hands completely before taking the form of an elegant silver and dual rod which instead if blades on each end. It was instead had silver flames as it's primary attack. Swiftly Shizuka plunged the flame covered weapon into Mizuko's chest immediately stunning the woman.

Mizuko released a ragged breathe as the silver flames burned through her entire body leaving a fairly large visible gash in her chest. Already she could feel the horrid flames burning her from the inside out but Mizuko would not die without completing her mission. Coughing up blood Mizuko allowed the prisons around Rin and Sesshomaru to be broken. Rin was instantly swooped up into Sesshomaru's arms as he allowed Shizuka to savor this moment of victory. Shizuka bid the flames to leave which they did,simply dissipating into the air. She then peered down towards the bloody form of Mizuko,who's blood like all other Celestials was a gleaming gold.

"Why did you do this?"Shizuka asked the dying Mizuko who struggled to catch her breathe before she spoke. "A Celestial must go through great tragedy to unleash our true powers and others must take a life of one they see as evil. I am that someone princess....and my death will bring you never-ending power....from the Moon." Mizuko stated as she took her final breathe. Her once lively azure eyes now became a dull hue and from her body came a strange evervesant light which seemed to sink into Shizuka's very body. Upon it entering her body Shizuka released a loud gasp as she felt a sudden burst of power from which she had never felt before. But this was hers. He true power so to speak and Shizuka never felt better.

"Tomorrow we go to the Moon,I want to make sure Rin is okay."Shizuka stated,her back still turned towards Sesshomaru. He simply nodded as he held the sleeping child,but despite all that had happened he never expected Shizuka to become so strong. It was enticing and something he wished to see more of. And he was sure there would be more to come on the moon. More danger. More Power. And more deciet.
