(Carter's POV)
I pulled up at my parents' house to see their cars in the driveway, my mom's black Mercedes and my dad's white Bentley. I stared at the cars as I sat in my truck contemplating on driving off and forgetting about the entire visit because I know all they want to do is talk at Destiny.
"Ugh." I groaned, exiting my truck. "I'm going to fucking regret this." I cursed to myself as I hopped out into the cold, shivering, I stuffed my hands into my jacket pockets.
Setting my alarm on my truck, I walked up the steps to their mansion and rang the door bell. I waited for a little while before someone answered.
Keema, our maid opened the door with a big smile and I couldn't help but to return it. "Papa!" She scream, jumping into my arms.
"Kay!" I hugged her tight. "I miss you."
Keema has been our maid and nanny since I was a little boy, she started when she was 16 and I have had a crush on her since. She was beautiful, her exotic warm brown skin, big brown eyes, and black curly hair.
She was more than a boy could ask for and she knew how to take care of me and my little sister, which was a plus.
Keema took Kinsley's death pretty hard, like the rest of us, she knew Kinsley from the day she was born and she cared for her like she was her child. And Kinsley absolutely adored her, she would go to Keema before going to my our mom.
I think my mom was secretly jealous, but it was her own fault considering she never spent much time with Kins.
"Gosh, you're so handsome!" She shouted, stepping back from me to get a good look.
I chuckled with a blush, scratching the back of my neck in embarrassment. "I try."
She rolled her eyes before pulling me in the house and closing the door. "Your mom is in the family room."
"Okay." I nodded.
Keema looked at me intensively. "Find me before you leave?"
I beamed at her. "I promise."
"You better." She winked.
I had to, I tried not to check her ass out as she walked away, I failed miserably, but it was so fucking worth it.
Fuck, I should have propositioned her along time ago.
I heard a throat clear from behind me. When I turned around it was my mom who was standing with her hands on her hips, a stern look was on her face.
"Mom." I smirked, knowing that she caught me staring at Keema.
Her lips in a hard line. "Get in here." She pointed towards the family room, reluctantly I obeyed.
When I walked in I almost didn't recognize the room. It had an all new design and fancier furniture than the last time I seen it.
The sofas were all white and leathered out, shiny and new. There were two Godfather chairs in the middle floor in front of the fireplace, facing the fire that had been lit.
"Fancy." I scoffed, looking around. "You know, before you changed it, this room was Kinsley's favorite." I said, causing my mom to sigh.
