Chapter Six
~Teegan's POV~
Today could have been such a good day. Today had so much potential. But no, of course we can't get a damned break. Stopping at the corner, I turn to look at Vi. Not knowing really what to say, so giving it a go, "hey, cheer up. Let's go grab a nibble, my treat." Hoping for the best, I am thrilled when she turns to me and smiles, "Sounds good."
Turning left onto Prospect Hill, I smile, "Great, I'm famished!" I slightly exaggerated. I imagine she rolled her eyes, seems to be the only thing she actually knows how to do these days.
I take us home real quick, as soon as I pulled to the driveway, we both jumped out and made our way inside. "We're home!" I holler, closing the door behind us. Omar walks into sight and smiles, "how was school?" We both groan and go into the living room, throwing ourselves on the couch. He chuckles, "well, I know what'll make you feel better! I have a mate who owns a little pub. He has this nice little nook that he never uses and I pulled a favor and he said you lot can use it for your writing and whatnot!"
Vi and I both jump up, excitement evident. "Where?!" Vi urgently asks.
He smiles "it's called Magic Kingdom or something of the sort! I'll text you the address. Why don't you go check it out?"
We both run out the door, not bothering to bid goodbye. We jump in my car and take off. My phone dings, indicating that I have a message. Violet opens it, "its the addy" and starts directing me toward this new place.
Turning up the radio, we jam out to some Green Day. Watching the beautiful homes as we turned onto 35 Bagdale, we were both looking in admiration. "These are some nice houses," Vi awed. I nodded, keeping my eyes on the road, but checking the houses that came in front of us. Going down Victoria Square, I pause at the intersection type roundabout.
"Left," Vi informs, so I go to take the slight left onto New Quay Rd, I hesitantly proceed. Man, I hope I don't get us lost.
"Over the bridge!" She states, I nod, turning my blinker on, I turned right, slowly crossing. Damn, I'm about to run someone over, why is there so many people walking around? It's freezing outside. I take note of all the surrounding shops. "Keep an eye out, will ya?" I glance at Vi to see her watching the buildings, she nodded, "sure, turn at this upcoming road."
Seeing a cute little road, I turn left. "Oi, it's narrow." I mumbled, slowly driving through. I don't think many people actually drive around here.. "A bookstore!" Vi pointed out, gesturing to the small green shop on our left. I nodded, "We've 'ought to make a trip there!" I approved, before focusing on the straight road.
Observing the crowd of people, I saw they all were looking at our car quite strangely. Trying to brush it off, I continued forward, before abruptly stopping. "Shit." I cursed, "That's way too narrow for us to fit. We have to ditch the car." I informed, reversing a bit then pulling into an opening. Vi sighed, unbuckling. We both got out, and I walked up to the gentlemen standing a yard or so away from where we parked, "Sir, is this your lot?" I asked. "Sure is, miss." He confirmed. I looked around quickly, "Would you mind us parking here just long enough for us to catch a bite? We are new here and weren't aware that cars shouldn't be here." I explained. He smiled, "Not a problem, youngling. Take your time, just be sure to lock it!" He kindly said, before turning around and walking away. I smiled to myself, he was nice.
Locking my baby, Vi and I started on our way down the tiny road. After about 2 minutes of walking and slight sight seeing, I spotted a lovely looking place just before the road curves. "There!" I exclaimed, already dragging Vi into the restaurant. Standing by the 'Welcome to the Kingdom Of Magic' sign, we waited to be seated. Not quite sure of how this works. "Tee, there's a bar. I'm not sure we would be able to go in." Vi stressed. Seeing the bar, I sighed, "Well, let's check first. The owner should know we're coming."
