Chapter Twenty Six
~Teegan's POV~
I wake up in a chipper mood on this fine Wednesday. I jumped out of bed and took a lovely shower. After a nice, long shower I dried off and wrapped the fluffy black towel around myself. After quickly brushing my teeth, I walked over to my vanity and sat on my bench. I applied my foundation, some natural eyeshadow, a bit of blush, mascara, and a little maroon lipstick. Deeming my makeup adequate, I stood up and made my way to my closet and grab my light gray shirt dress and my thigh high black boots. Thinking a nice cardigan would match well, I closed my closet and walked to my wardrobe and fetched my black sweater cardigan.
After dressing myself, I sprayed some frizz control in my naturally curly hair and fluffed it a bit. I checked myself over and smiled at the result. I'm finally starting to look myself again.
Grabbing my mobile, I checked the time, eight thirty six A.M. Let's go wake up Vi, shall we?
Smirking, I stalked out of my room and into Violet's. Not bothering knocking, I barged in and yanked her pillow out from beneath her head. Laughing when she gave out a girlish yelp as she smashed her head onto the wooden headboard, I turned around and ran out of the room.
"TEEGAN QUINN! I WILL END YOU!"
Hearing her scream made me laugh even harder, which then lead to me tumbling down the stairs. "Oi!" I yelped. I stood up and came face to face with a livid Violet. I got ready to make another run for it, but just before I could, someone knocked on the front door. I raised my right hand in a 'stop' gesture and dashed to the door. I quickly fixed my hair just as I opened it and was greeted by the one and only Veronica, accompanied by my lawyer, Judith Chandler. I gave them both a welcoming smile and held the door all the way open, allowing them in. After closing the door, I ushered them to the living room where us three sat.
'I'm waking the kids up and getting them bathed. We'll be down when they leave.'
Thank you. This shouldn't take long.
"How are you, Teegan?" Judith asked, as her and Veronica both opened their briefcases. I smiled, "I'm great! Thanks. How are you?" She smiled in return, answering with a simple "good, thank you."
"Judith and I caught up on you becoming the kids guardian, and we came to a very pleasant conclusion." Veronica informed, getting straight to the point. Good. I don't want this taking any longer than it has to.
I nodded, encouraging her to continue. "It is very possible you can be granted guardianship as soon as next week."
Judith agreed, "Indeed. I do believe it will be relatively easy to be granted guardianship. I put in your petition Monday and received word that you have court next Monday. Your trial should be fast."
I grinned, overwhelmed with joy. "Really? That's fantastic!"
"Yes. And, you also get your share of what your parents gave you in their will. All of the estate is yours: this house, both of their cars, their summer house in the states, and your mother's part of her family's inheritance in Salem, Massachusetts." Judith handed me a pile of papers. I stared down at them, not even bothering to read any of it.
"All of that? I didn't even know we have a summer house in the states. And I most certainly have no idea what the family inheritance is." I shook my head in disbelief.
She gave me a firm nod, "You also get your trust money. Which is four hundred and seventy three thousand dollars."
"Bloody hell!" I gasp.
Who knew mother had that much money!?
"It's all being processed right now. You should have the check Monday, after your court."
