Chapter Twenty Two
~Teegan's POV~

How do you deal with finding out you're a witch? How do you handle knowing your potential boyfriend is a vampire? And most importantly, what do you do when you learn demons are after you; and they want blood? Now, let's top that sundae off, shall we? Those demons that are out for blood, they are also the ones responsible for killing half your family. Welcome to the life of Teegan Quinn and Violet Jade.

I feel like nothing can surprise us anymore. We have jumped every obstacle I can think of - even ones I never would've thought of. We overcame heartbreak and death.

Yet, I still feel evil.

'Maybe that's your bloodsucking boyfriend.'

I rolled my eyes. I swear, this mind reading thing Violet and I share sucks. It happens at the most unexpected times.

Shut up. Your boyfriend is a bloodsucker, too.

I have no idea why she is so sour towards Zander, now. I almost thought they were closer to becoming mates. Almost.

Bloodsucking bloodsuckers. That's not something you hear everyday. Or necessary befriend. But I suppose everything is out of the usual lately. Perks of being a witch, perhaps?

"Tee, a lady is here to see you!"

I make my way to the foyer and see Veronica standing there at the entrance. "Thanks, Iris. Why don't you and Mikey go play out back, yeah?" I patted her shoulder. She nodded and ran out. "Well, come on in." I turned to Veronica, welcoming her in. She didn't bother with a smile today as she briskly walked passed me and took a seat on the couch.

"Sure," I mumbled, "make yourself at home."

If she heard me, she sure didn't show it.

I sat down on the loveseat across from her and crossed my left leg over right. "What may I do for you, Veronica?" I politely asked, despite the bitterness I feel in the pit of my stomach.

She sighed, "We need to talk about a home for Michael and Iris."

"We did. They are staying here, with me."

There was a fairly long silence, "Are you sure you can handle this?" She asked, holding a firm stare.

I confidently nodded, "Yes. I can."

She looked conflicted, but gave a firm nod nonetheless. "It is a long, hard process. You do understand that, don't you?"

"I can handle it."

"Very well, then. Let's go over the mandatory needs, shall we?" She opened her briefcase and pulled out a file, leaned over and handed it to me. Grasping it, I gave a short 'thank you' and opened the file.

I skimmed over it and looked back up to her, "I will go job hunting tomorrow. I get possession of my part of my parents will in roughly a week. We will be set financially." I start, skimming over a few lines again. "I have a good, reliable car. We are keeping this house, so they have a nice and stable home. I have always done the grocery shopping, so they will be properly fed." I informed her, mentally going through the check list.

"And schooling?" She asked.

"mum usually dropped them off before I even left - But I have started dropping them off on my way to school. Then they take the bus home on most days. I occasionally pick them up, when they call me." I state, feeling confident in all of this. I already parent them so well. I mentally pat myself on the back. Granted, Violet does help quite a bit. But I'm still giving myself credit.

Veronica nodded, looking rather pleased. "Very good. I would say you have a pretty good chance of being able to keep them. You might not even have to go to court too many times. As far as this Violet person goes - is she living here temporarily or permanently?" She questioned.
