Chapter Seventeen
~Violet's POV~
"Stay away from Jaxton." Isn't it always lovely to be cornered by the Queen Bitch who wants to get with the guy who you like on your way to fifth period? I mean I don't know about you, but that's my favorite thing. Best time ever. I blame Teegan for leaving me alone. She had to make a detour to class and I, having anxiety about being late, couldn't risk the longer route. So I guess it is my fault, but that's not really the point. The point is that I have this girl here bugging me about nothing. Like get over yourself.
"Seriously, Laura? We have to get to class." I roll my eyes, this is so freaking immature and stupid.
"We have time." She assures me. I roll my eyes, crossing my arms over my chest.
"I don't." I turn on my heel and walk away.
"Who do you think you are? Walking away from me? ME?" She chases after me. Wow. She's so full of herself that she has to chase little ol' me down. Props to her.
"I'm nobody, so why don't you go chase someone who cares." The difference I feel towards her is clear in my voice.
"What's going on?" Perfect!
"Hey buddy, tell your psycho girlfriend to leave me the hell alone." When the words leave my mouth, Jaxton looks shocked. Like he cannot believe I said that about them. Oh what? Did he tell her he didn't want her then hold her crying self before disappearing too? Damn, maybe he should learn not to do that. I mean, it's sending mixed signals, it really is.
"Vi, we really need to talk." He suggests. A look of confusion passing on my face.
"Talk? Talk about what?" The confusion is also in my voice. As far as I'm concerned, we have nothing to talk about.
"Yeah, you guys have nothing to talk about." The desperate ass hoe agrees.
"Laura, leave us alone." Jaxton gives her a look, but I shake my head.
"Don't bother." I turn and walk into class, leaving them alone. Though not for long as Jaxton comes in a minute later trailed closely by Laura. Teegan finally comes in and I have a lot to talk to her about later. A moment before the bell rings, Zander comes slipping into the class, barely missing a tardy.
Tee looks at me, confused. I ignore her eye. The last thing I want to do is bring her into this. She looks back at the boys then back to me, hoping to catch my attention and gather answers.
"Just talk to me." I shiver. When did he get behind me?
"I can't." I say just above a whisper.
"Please, love."
"Don't call me that." I hiss at him.
"Why do you have to be so freaking stubborn?" He seems irritated.
"Why do you have to be such a freaking jerk?" I mimic him.
"How am I a jerk?" He actually sounds confused. He has some nerve.
"Let's see... You said you didn't want me after leading me on. You always do that disappearing act. You never told me that you're a vampire." I decide that's enough and by the silence from him, I'd say I'm right.
"What did you just say?" He asks, turning my chair around to face him.
"Which one? Not wanting me?" I play the innocent act.
"Cute." He deadpans, so not amused. "Violet, I'm serious."
"Oh, so the disappearing act." I nod, acting as if I finally understand.
