Chapter Thirty Four
~Teegan's POV~
"It's getting stronger, Violet." I quietly spoke, my hands trembling, tears rolling down my flustered face.
"Teegan, calm down. It's a new power, it's going to be hard. Remember when I first got signs of my storms? I was terrified." She started, soothingly rubbing my hands. "Your powers will only get stronger, Tee. You just need to try your best to stay calm."
I shook my head, "It hurts, Vi. So bad." I cried, the pain all over my body too unbearable. I don't know how Violet handles her storms so well, whatever is happening to me is awful agony.
"Make it stop." I begged. She just hugged me tightly. And I have no idea what it was, but it helped, alot. It's as if she healed me.
Next thing I know, I'm waking up nearly six hours later. I yawn, stretching my arms.
I sat up and instantly regret it. I had a pounding headache and felt sick to my stomach.
I bet laying in bed all day won't do me any good, though.
Getting up, I walked out of my room and downstairs. Nobody was in the living room or the lounge, so I walked into the kitchen. And thankfully, everyone is here. I looked around and saw Violet and Jaxton cooking, I know - scary. Then Zander was drawing on the dining room table with the kids. I walk over to the fridge, open it and search for a drink.
"Morning, sunshine." Violet sarcastically greeted. I gave a small wave over my head. Finding some small apple juice bottles, I grabbed one and closed the fridge. "What's cooking?" I asked, walking over to the table and taking a seat.
"Meatball subs with homemade chips!" Violet chirped.
"You hungry?" Jaxton asked, turning around to look at me. I nodded and gave my belly a small pat, "famished."
"Look, Tee!" Iris waved a drawing of a butterfly. "Cute, honey." I gave her a smile.
"You look like death, Teegan."
I shot Mikey a glare, "Go away." I grumbled. He chuckled, going back to drawing.
"Are you feeling any better, darling?" Zander asked, reaching his hand across the table and placing it on top of mine. I gave a tight smile then put my head down on the table, closing my eyes.
A few minutes later, Jaxton announced that dinner is done, and he and Violet started serving us.
We all dug in. Surprisingly, it was pretty good. "Thank you, guys. That was tasty." I said, standing up. I grabbed Zander, Jaxton, Violet, the kids and my plate and stacked them up, holding them on my forearm. I started grabbing a few cups once I had collected all the plates then hauled it all to the sink. I quickly washed everything, then joined everyone in the living room.
I took a seat next to Zander on our small couch as Vi and Jaxton sat next to each other on our big couch, and the little kids laid on the floor.
Looking at the kids made me think about how much we hide from them. We haven't told them anything. It's dreadful. They should know.
Should we tell them?
'About us?'
About us and them. We should tell them the truth.
'No! That would only put them in more danger.'
I can't help but feel guilty for not telling the kids about everything. We're leaving them in the shadows about everything, just like mother did to Violet and I.
