Chapter Thirty Seven
~Violet's POV~"Happy Sunday." Tee barges into my room, in an extremely - and quite annoying, might I add - chipper mood.
"Go away." I pull the blankets over my head. She tsks and pulls my blankets away from me. I glare at her.
"C'mon moody Mc. No fun." She urges, trying to get me out of bed.
"I am fun. When I'm asleep." I declare, cuddling up with my pillow.
"Your boyfriend is downstairs waiting for you, though, if you prefer... I could send him up." Okay, she is so disgusting.
"Get out." I scream at her, before grabbing my blankets off the floor and covering up again.
"Love?" Jax knocks on my door, before letting himself in. Absolutely no respect.
"Go away." I mumble into my pillow. He walks over and sits on the edge of my bed. Moving a huge clump of my hair away from my face. That won't help anything. My face is buried in a pillow.
"Baby, c'mon. We're all going exploring. You guys have been here for so long, but still have so much to see." He encourages.
"I don't feel like getting out of bed." I complain. Which is completely true.
"My poor queen." He says, kissing my forehead. "I can stay with you today." He offers which is so very adorable of him.
"No. Go out and have fun with Tix. I'll still be here when you get back." I say, lifting my face completely out of the pillow and looking into his eyes. His eyes, that might just be brown, but are such an intense and beautiful brown. The eyes that I could just absolutely get lost in.
"It won't be as much fun without you." He complains.
"Jax, seriously, go." My tone turns stern. He lets out a deep breath, but nods nonetheless.
"I'll see you when I get back." He says, giving me a quick peck, before disappearing out the door. Why do I have to mess everything good up?
~Jaxton's POV~
I head down the stairs, feeling defeated. When I reach the living room the other two are confused.
"She wouldn't even come for you?" Teegan asks, looking worriedly towards the stairs.
"I'm worried about her." I sigh.
"Well c'mon guys. Let's get out of here to talk." Nix ushers us all out. We take a stroll down the street.
"Something has just been different with her lately." I speak up once more. Teegan nods.
"It's like she's a completely different person. It's scary, but the worse part is I don't know why. I mean she seemed fine - or as fine as you can seem - after all of the deaths. Nothing out of the ordinary. She even took being a witch pretty well, considering. Then you two got together and I was sure everything would get even better for her, but I don't know." Teegan looks so worried and scared. You can tell that she does really care about her best mate.
"She'll be fine, guys. Not everyone can take all of that and keep living life as if everything is okay. And as you know, Tee, most of everything you guys are experiencing is painful. And you can't control it. It must be overwhelming. But time heals all wounds, right Jax?" It's like Zander just always knows what to say to fix every problem or bad mood. Because he's right. And he knows it.
"That's the thing. This isn't like Violet. Not since she first moved in with us. You don't know how she was." Teegan looks absolutely terrified and that worries me.
