-- Chapter 9 -- Reese's Puffs

heya i'm back! i've got a few chapter lined up but this is it for now. i'm so excited because i'm getting into the juicy parts and i can't wait to see how you guys react. the story is slowly unfolding more. i'm trying to make updates shorter only bc i feel like 8,000 words is a lot for every update but if it gets to it, it gets there. anyways, hope you enjoy :))~ Josh's POV ~

I hit the ground with a thud, my eyes snapping open, body jolting.

I woke up in a daze, a little sweaty and short of breath. My forehead was coated in beads of sweat and my heart was thumping loudly, filling my ear drums.

Was that fun?

No.

Was for us

Of course it was

I was on the verge of tears, I hated nights like these. I propped myself up onto my elbows, grabbing my phone to check the time.

3:39 am

I groaned, pressing the home button. I was scrolling through my Instagram and noticed Xena had followed me last night. That was nice I guess, considering we knew less about each other than I had initially thought. She was public. It gave me a chance to see her profile.

I started to look through her profile, curious about what she put on her feed. There were a few photos of her at the beach and heaps of pictures with Jenna, of course. As I scrolled further and further into her feed, I noticed there was a picture of four young kids. It was captioned

'happy international sibling day, love you guys to the moon and back. wish you were here to celebrate. all my love <3'

They were her siblings, clearly. I felt bad for her, losing your family would be a horrible thing to go through. It was probably in a car crash or something.

I looked through her feed a little more, getting to her first post. It was of her and Jenna. It was captioned 'thanks for being my blood and water through everything thick and thin. love you to the moon and back, happy 12 years of friendship, bestie'

That was cute. Jenna was tagged so I followed her too, noticing Tyler was already following her. After Insta stalking her for a while, I plugged in my earphones and put on some music to relax.

I woke up a short time later, with about five hours of undisturbed sleep. It felt good to finally get some rest because I hadn't slept properly in four days. Grudgingly, I got out of bed, the cold air making my shoulders shake. I had given my sweater to Xena last night and didn't bother grabbing another one. I had literally just crashed straight into bed since I was so exhausted.

Robotically, my feet carried me downstairs into the kitchen. Nobody else was up yet, so I tried to make very little noise. I pulled out the box of Reese's Puffs and filled up a bowl to the top. I was extra tired so I made myself a double shot coffee on top of that. I grabbed my breakfast and collapsed onto the sofa, switching the TV on. I was flicking through the channels mindlessly, trying to find something to keep me occupied. I settled on some animated kids show, letting it play in the background quietly. I unlocked my phone and went into twitter, scrolling through my timeline. Not much was going on to be honest but it distracted me.

An hour had passed and everyone was starting to get up, disturbing the peace around me. I didn't really mind that much though. Jordan had kind of invaded my personal space by sitting right next to me when there was literally a whole sofa but I didn't argue with him. My phone vibrated in my hand, lighting up.
