~ 3rd person POV ~

For the past few days, Josh had been messaging her non-stop. She hadn't a clue what to do, so she made the illogical yet logical decision to ignore him. She muted his number and tried to carry on with her life. 'Carrying on with her life' meant sitting on the sofa watching Netflix with a tub of ice cream every night. Jenna attempted to get her off the couch but her efforts proved fruitless.

Jenna went out with Tyler that Friday and told her all about it. This was pretty much the only conversation more than one minute Xena had held in two days.

"He took me out to this nice restaurant and then we walked along a river and he's actually really nice. I arrived at the restaurant and he had bought a bouquet of flowers! I totally misjudged him. You were right, I just needed to give him a chance. We are gonna go out again, and this time it's not for you and Josh. I mean uh... I didn't mean to use the J word, crap, I'm sorry!"

"It's fine, don't worry. I'm glad you guys are getting along and that he's been really sweet to you. You look amazing, I'm sure he popped his top when he saw you,"

"Aw thanks Xena, you're too nice." She fiddled with her shirt button nervously, looking anywhere but in Xena's eyes "I'm uh, I'm gonna go to tomorrow's show if you don't mind,"

"Yeah, enjoy. I hope it's fun." Xena rolled over exhaling dejectedly, staring at the wall.

"I'm sorry about J word," She rubbed Xena's shoulder soothingly

"It's fine. It's kind of complicated and he keeps texting me but I muted him and I feel bad but I just don't wanna deal with it. I'm also sorry I've been such a rude sloth," Xena turned back over and gave Jenna a sloppy side hug

"You aren't it's fine. I just hate seeing you so drained and unhappy,"

"What's new?" Xena rolled her eyes

"But you were really happy around Josh. You seemed less down,"

"I know but those times are gone."

"It's not even that bad. You should just talk to him," Jenna pleaded

"Maybe later,"

"If you say so. I just want you to be okay, I hate seeing you so miserable." Jenna sighed sadly

"I know and I hopefully will be. Thanks Jen, I don't know how I deserve such a good best friend like you," Xena smiled woefully

"It's okay and you do deserve me so relax. I'm gonna head to bed. Please try getting some sleep. Goodnight Xena." Jenna kissed Xena's forehead and began to walk off

"Goodnight Jen." Xena propped herself onto her elbow and continued to watch TV

By Sunday, the usual messaging had subsided. Xena thought it was a bit odd since he texted her at least twenty times a day. She brushed it off and continued her routine of Netlfix binge watching and ice cream eating.

By Monday morning, all texts from Josh had ceased completely. Xena was so used to receiving the texts that when she woke up and checked her phone to see nothing since 3:59 on Sunday, she was dumbfounded.
