(so like i don't really know what happens in an american courtroom, so i made a lot of it up including the laws. i based it off movies and the little knowledge i have about the judicial system in general but hey it's all for the plot. enjoy!)

3rd Person POV

"Well I didn't know he was actually gonna go do it," Jenna shook her head in disbelief

"What, I was gonna sit here and do nothing, knowing where she was?" Josh laughed, a tinge of annoyance in his voice.

"No, I was just, whatever. I'm glad you're okay," Jenna embraced Xena in a tight hug

"Right. And tell Josh I'm not crazy and that that place is awful," Xena stepped back and jumped on the sofa.

"No, she's right. That place is bad. They are doing so much shady stuff, it's scary." Jenna shuddered at the thought.

"Why?" Josh asked

"Story for another day," Xena shrugged, patting the empty spot next to her.

"Glad you're both back now," Tyler smiled and pulled Jenna onto his lap as he stroked her soft flaxen hair.

"Me too," Xena smiled and sighed, finally a feeling content settling in her gut.

------------

"Please state your name for the jury," The man asked

"James William Mitchell," He shot the judge a friendly smirk

"We are here today to discuss the sentence of Mr. Mitchell here, who murdered four of the five members in the Parker family. Between the time of the first court date and now, we have gotten Mr. Mitchell a psychological assessment which came to the conclusion that Mr. Mitchell is clinically unfit for society without treatment and medical help,"

"I prefer the term special," James winked and chuckled a little, amusing himself.

"Mr. Mitchell, please." The judge hit the wood with her gavel with little force but enough for it to do its job.

"Ms. Parker here also claims you raped her on the early morning of November 29 in her bedroom whilst her parents and family were home. Today we need to settle a treatment program and ensure the safety and peace of mind for Ms. Parker here," The man continued to rapidly pace the front of the court room, like in the movies.

"Pfft," James mumbled.

"Mr. Mitchell," The judge was growing increasingly frustrated with James

"I believe you say that you weren't in the right 'state of mind' on the occurrence of both of these events. Is that true?"

"Your honour, on both these occasions, I had fought with my parents. My disorder prevented me from dealing with the situation correctly, which caused me to do such things. I feel an unfathomable remorse for the events that took place on these instances, and I have a deep concern for the people around me, including Ms. Parker. I wish to seek treatment for my disorder and I wish to get better so I can contribute to the world in a positive manner," He smiled at his little speech, how he was able to lie and manipulate his way through to freedom, or the compromise for whatever freedom was for him. To avoid serving a sentence in jail.

"Ms. Parker, if Mr. Mitchell was to seek thorough treatment for his issues, would you feel safe for him to be back in the Columbus community?"

"If he gets treatment," Alexandra was interrupted before she could finish

"So if Ms. Parker is okay for Mr. Mitchell to receive treatment for his disorders, Mr. Mitchell can walk free under the Short Term Treatment Act of 1991 after a registered doctor evaluates he is safe and controlled enough to be allowed into the community." The man finally stopped in front of the judge's podium and looked into the crowd of attending people.

"Objections?" The judge yelled out, her voice echoing throughout the whole courtroom.

"I," Alexandra's voice went quiet, rendering her unable to speak. She hated the fact that he could get away with this.

"Court adjourned." The judge hit the gavel, indicating there was now nothing she could do. As everyone started to file out, James was led away past her.

"I'll see you shortly Alexandra." He whispered.

He shot her a smirk laced with evil and malice. He continued on out the door, that smile plastered to his pale sweaty skin, even as he was flanked by two orderlies.

She despised the name Alexandra and never wanted to by addressed by it again. She wasn't Alexandra anymore; she was Xena. Xena like the warrior princess. She was her own warrior princess. This was Xena's moment, her turning point.

Xena stood up and rushed out of the courtroom, her face contorted into an angry scowl.
