Lin's POV
I sat in the theatre watching the actors and actresses run through their routines with the director and creative team. I couldn't help that one day I could be working on a musical that Scarlett could be apart of. I smiled at the thought and reminisced on how the kids used to be growing up... Where had the time gone?
Scarlett was going to be graduating next year and off to college. Sebastian was starting his second year of high school next year, Alejandro and Amelie weren't the little kids we used to see anymore.... Everyone we used to work with had their own kids as well. Each of them resembling their parents in more ways than one.
Scarlett was looking more and more like her mother everyday... She was slender, tall, and was very poised when it came to random strangers coming up to her in the streets. But she was very outspoken when it came to the things she loved and had everything like me. I smiled at how she was growing up. The perfect balance between us.
Alejandro was more like me on the outside. Looked like a perfect balance of both of us in looks though. His mind was much more organized just like Pip's. He focused on one thing at a time and hardly ever stressed over things. He would sit and think things through before making any decision.
Amelie was just like me.. Unorganized, messy, and very outspoken. She worried me a lot. She was always getting in trouble for questioning everything in school, and was not taking little answers as the truth. I saw so much of me in her, and it terrified me... How was she supposed to live with us for a while longer and Pippa not want to kill either one of us?
"Hey old man Miranda!" The director laughed. "What did you think?" He asked.
"I think it looked good! Maybe run through it one more time to make sure everyone has it and is perfectly okay with the amount of work going into this part." I yelled. The cast gave me a thumbs up and went back to starting positions. I needed to stop spacing out like this at work....

When I walked inside Burger was sitting on the counter rocking out to Alejandro's music that was quietly playing. I laughed at the little cockatoo headbanging to classical music. Alejandro walked out from the hall carrying more books and smiled at me.
"Mom left already. So I took advantage of the kitchen music." He laughed.
"I'm not complaining." I said while putting my bags down. "I bought dinner. Where are your sisters?" I asked.
"Amelie is complaining in her room, and Scarlett is doing something to Simba. Not quite sure...." He said while opening his books. I nodded and went to check on Scarlett, knowing her, she could be doing something to that dog that he probably didn't like...
"What are you doing to Simba?" I asked her while knocking on the door. I looked at the poor dog wearing a tutu and his lion mane. "Oh dear..." I laughed.
"I'm thinking he might need some help.." Scarlett laughed. Her friend Dani was over too holding more dog costumes.
"I think he shouldn't be a lion. I think he should be your dad." Dani laughed.
"I think so too." I chimed in. Scarlett and Dani looked at me and laughed. "But which role would Simba play?" I asked.
"He would wear his golf cap." Dani said while replacing the mane with a golf cap. I laughed at the sight and walked over to Amelie's room. I knocked on the door and peeked inside. She jumped at my sudden intrusion and glared at me.
"Oh, it's just you dad." She said while picking her pencil back up.
"Who else would it be?" I asked.
"I don't know. I thought it was Al." She shrugged.
"He said you were complaining?" I frowned.
"Yeah, don't have enough colors to finish this project." She shrugged. I nodded and looked at her project. It was an art project! How could she not tell us about an art project? I looked around the room and saw multiple drawings all over her walls and floor. "Dad, you can go now..." She mumbled.
"When were you going to tell us you were an artist?!" I asked her while picking up one of the drawings.
"Dad! Out!" She yelled. I sighed and left her room. I felt disconnected with her... Before she never wanted to leave my side...
"Daddy! Daddy! Again! Again!" Amelie giggled. Alejandro was staring at a butterfly and playing with it. Pippa was sitting on a picnic blanket with Scarlett getting our lunch set up. I smiled at Amelie and took her back up the slide.
"Daddy can't go down the slide with you. Are you going to be a big girl?" I asked. I was way too tall for the baby slide, but she always insisted.
"But daddy!" She whined. I sighed and gave into her puppy dog face. "Wee!!" She giggled.
"Alright kiddo, time for lunch!" I smiled. "Alejandro! Let's eat!" I laughed. Alejandro came running towards us and plopped himself down on the blanket.
"Daddy, after we eat can we go on the swings together?" Amelie asked.
"Of course!" I said while handing her a juice box.
Where had the days gone? Why was she so distant from us? I just wanted my daughter back...
