Lin's POV
Pippa was growing more and more distant from me. She would wake up, then avoid me until she had to leave for work. Scarlett noticed and didn't want any of this in her life...
"Why is mom always quiet now?" Alejandro asked.
"I don't know..." I sighed.
"How come you're making us burnt pancakes..." Amelie asked while turning off the stove. "Mom always makes us breakfast on Saturdays." She frowned.
"Well your mother decided to add another show into her schedule to do two shows on Saturdays instead of one." I grumbled. "Sorry I'm not your mother." I sighed.
"Dad! Calm down. Mom is just pissed at you because you're not being a good husband." Scarlett said to me from the living room.
"Excuse me?" I asked.
"Think about it. You and mom used to be all great together. Then once we started growing up, you guys became better parents rather than better people to each other. You're so consumed with work that you don't even remember any of our birthdays, or your anniversary. Mom just doesn't care anymore. If you want her to care again, you would change your ways and try and woo her again. Before she goes and finds someone else who can." She said before leaving for school. Alejandro and Amelie followed her close behind, which left me alone in the big apartment. I groaned and sat on the floor in the kitchen.
She was right. I was becoming more and more aware of it all by just sitting out here.

"I just don't know..." I sighed. Simba tilted his head at me and I gave him another dog treat. "Why does it always have to be like this?" I asked him. "It would help if you had answers. Instead you're just leaving crumbs all over the place." I heard the door open and heard more than one pair of feet walk in.
"Ow!" I heard Pippa's voice. I turned around and saw her being held up by two people.
"Good! You're home!" One of the girls smiled.
"Don't just sit there! Help!" The other one frowned. I jumped up and ran to help. Pippa was barely putting any pressure on her right foot...
"What happened?" I asked while taking Pippa's full weight. I helped her to the couch and lifted her foot onto the table.
"After the performance when we were walking down to the dressing rooms, she took a little tumble... Director is giving her a good two weeks before she can come back." The blond girl frowned. "Get better Pip. Stay off that foot. We have to get back and prepare for the next show." She said while walking out with her friend.
"I'm fine..." Pippa sighed while trying to get back up. I held her down and shook my head.
"Nope. I don't think so. You're going to stay down. I'm going to go get the first aid kid and a bag of ice. You need to rest." I said while walking into the bedroom.
After about an hour, I finally figured out how to wrap her ankle and she looked like she needed some rest.
"Thank you..." She sighed.
"Look Pip.. I'm sorry for forgetting.. Scarlett really put it into perspective this morning..." I frowned. "I promise that I won't forget anything else... You know, next month is her talent show. Maybe we can all go." I smiled.
"I'm sorry too Lin. But this forgetting nonsense needs to stop... It's terrifying me that you can't even remember the day I gave birth to two more of your kids.... And you were there...." She frowned. "I just don't want you to be so obsessed with your work. We have kids to take care of." She said while taking my hand.
"Of course. I'm so sorry. Please forgive me?" I asked while resting my head on her chest.
"I do..." She said while kissing my head.
~~~
I helped Pippa in anyway I could. She was enjoying the much more needed affection. All of our kids came home and saw their mother wounded.
"Mom! What did you do?!" Alejandro asked while throwing his bag into his room.
"I just slipped on the stairs at work. I'll be up in no time." She smiled.
"Well you just sit there and we'll do everything." He said while sitting next to her.
"Thank you Al." She smiled. The kids surrounded her with hugs and talking about their day while I started on dinner. I wasn't that great of a cook, but I tried. I really did. I decided to make a little salad, and some pan seared chicken. Of course, Scarlet had to help since I was terrible in the kitchen. She abandoned me to walk Simba before he got antsy.
"Alright guys, just a few more minutes until dinner is done." I said while setting the table. Amelie and Alejandro ran into the dinning room to finish setting the table. Scarlett came back with Simba and finished helping me with dinner.
"Are you sure I can't help?" Pippa asked from the couch.
"We're sure!" Scarlett called. I heard her groan and watched her throw her head back on the couch. I let Scarlett finish up dinner while I helped Pippa to the table.
"We should probably get me some crutches." She laughed.
"I don't mind helping you." I smiled. She laughed and I sat her at the table. Scarlett brought the plates of food out and we did a check of the kitchen to make sure everything was off. I took my seat next to Pippa and saw Scarlet smile. "I love you." I whispered.
"I love you too." She said while taking my hand.
