Lin's POV
Pippa and I had decided to see a show since it was her day off with rehearsing. I was so proud of her, who knew she would be playing this amazing role on stage. I walked through the house waiting for Pip to be done getting ready. We didn't have to dress up, dress up, but we wanted to at least look presentable. I had a pair of slacks and a nice shirt on with my sneakers. I didn't need to do much since I was a dude.
"Why can't we go to the show?" Amelie asked while pouting.
"Because I'm taking your mother out for date night and date night doesn't have kids." I explained.
"Because it creates kids." Scarlett's friend, Dani, laughed. Scarlett laughed with her and I rolled my eyes. I couldn't get mad because she wasn't lying. It usually led to having more kids. But we weren't aiming for more kids.
"Alright, I'm ready to go." I looked up and saw Pippa walk down the hall towards me. She had on a pair of nice jeans and a white blouse with some flats. Her hair was done up nicely and she had barely any makeup on. "What?" She asked.
"Nothing... You just look gorgeous." I said while putting my arm around her. She smiled and kissed my cheek. I watched her walk to get her bag and I gave Scarlett the look. "Alright, you're in charge. I don't want to get any phone calls from the neighbors about anything." I pointed.
"We know, we know!" Scarlett groaned. Pippa smiled and we walked out of the apartment hand in hand. I was happy that we were going to get another night away from kids.
~~~
"Goodness, when was the last time we actually sat down and watched a show?" Pippa asked while walking to our seats.
"I have no idea. We need to do this more often." I said while letting her walk in front of me towards our seats. "But not see a show, just date night. Get away from the kids you know?" I shrugged. She nodded and smiled back at me.
"It's always a good idea." She laughed. We were given our playbills and we went down to our row. The stage looked so nice from our area. The curtain looked amazing too, it was like a map of their world. "Gosh, I feel like I was just here..." She whispered while sitting in her seat.
"You were, yesterday." I smirked. She hit my leg and I sat down next to her. "Goodness, someone doesn't like to be reminded of work." I laughed.
"I just want to relax." She sighed. I nodded and decided to look through the playbill. "They're going to be updating them soon with all of the new cast members." She explained.
"Or they already did." I said while showing her her picture. "Right there." I pointed. "Phillipa soo, standby for Elphaba. Studied at Julliard with a degree in the fine arts. Shows including her have consisted of--"
"Stop... Please stop reading." She said while putting her hand on the descriptions.
"Oh come on!" I frowned.
"I don't want to hear it." She pointed.
"Well I do. Your accomplishments are amazing and you should be proud of them. Like I am of you all the time. I'm so proud of you and you shouldn't be ashamed of anything you've been in." I smiled.
"I'm not ashamed. I just don't want to hear them right now. I just want to enjoy the show." She said quietly. I nodded and continued reading. It was interesting to read what other people were in before they came to Wicked. The lights dimmed and the music came up. Pip grabbed my hand and smiled at me. I was happy to share these moments with her.
~~~
We sat on the train headed home and Pippa was resting her head on my shoulder. I was happy to be her pillow when she was tired.
"I didn't want to say this earlier, but you're starting to get grey hair." She smirked.
"I know. Isn't it great?" I laughed. She rolled her eyes at my weird humor and held onto my arm tighter. "I might've seen a grey hair on you too." I joked. She shot up and looked at me. "I'm kidding. Gosh, you would never have a grey hair." I smiled. She hit my arm and I laughed.
"Don't ever do that again! I need to know these things so I can fix them!" She groaned. We finally made it home and I kissed her in the elevator up. "You sure now how to take a girl out." She said while wrapping her arms around my neck.
"Well maybe we could have a little bit of fun tonight." I winked.
"Oh gosh..." She blushed. I smiled and walked down the hall with my arm around her waist. "Do you think the kids are asleep?" She asked.
"I hope so. Scarlett might be awake. It's only eleven." I said while checking my phone. She nodded and unlocked the front door. We looked around the house, didn't see anything on fire or broken, so that was a good sign. Pip checked on Amelie and Alejandro while I checked on Scarlett. I knocked on her door and didn't hear any response, so I opened the door a bit. I saw Scarlett asleep with Simba laying on her bed passed out as well. I smiled at the sight and shut the door.
"Is she good?" Pip asked. I nodded and we went to our room. We decided to stay up and talk instead of playing around since we were getting too tired to do that. "I'm just saying, what if you know? I know Amelie and Alejandro are going to throw a fit, but after we get some money from this show, we should really consider on moving... This apartment is going to get way too small and the kids are just going to get bigger. You're taller than me, and I'm taller than my parents. Which means the twins are going to be as tall as us." She frowned.
"Well, Scarlett is going off to college in a couple years. So we'll have the extra room." I shrugged.
"And what if she doesn't get accepted? What if she doesn't and turns into this weirdo that goes around screaming things at people?" She frowned.
"What are you talking about?" I asked.
"I don't know... I just worry about her." She said while pacing the room. "I just don't want her becoming this creep that lives in a basement somewhere screaming 'It's ALIVE!!!' at everything... Or playing a piano and kidnapping people... You know??" She frowned.
"Pip, calm down. Scarlett is going to get accepted to college and go on to do great things. She's not going to become a creep. I promise." I laughed. "Now come to bed." I smiled. She rolled her eyes and climbed into bed with me.
"I swear I worry too much..." She groaned.
"Yes. Yes you do." I laughed.
