*Two Months Later*

Scarlett's POV

I had eased back into rehearsals after a few weeks, and was able to bring in my full potential to the stage. Heather ended up losing her spot on Great Comet due to her leg still trying to heal. I felt so bad that she ended up breaking her leg, but I only ended up with minor problems...

"Remember everyone! Two weeks until we open!" Dad yelled. "We have a few days for a break so enjoy it!" I smiled and looked down at my dress. I was excited to finally show my stuff on stage... Of course, it wasn't Broadway yet. Just the before stuff...

"So you wanna hang out? Or are you going to be really busy tonight?" Ignacio asked while wrapping his arm around my waist.

"I'm going to be hanging out with my mom and sister tonight. My brother has a date so we're going to have a girls night without him." I shrugged.

"Without him?" He questioned.

"He's gay." I laughed. He laughed with me and kissed my head. "How upset were you when you found out I was hit by a car?" I bit my lip and looked up at him. He frowned and tightened his grip on me.

"I cried." He admitted. "I was so scared that you were going to be hurt, then when your dad came back in that next day, and said that you were in a coma that rehearsals were going to be delayed..." I frowned and rested my head on his chest.

"I'm here now." I smiled. He nodded and kissed my head. I was happy to have someone like him in my life.

"That was totally unjustified!" I groaned. Mom frowned and shook her head. "Yes it was and you know it! You taught me how to play this dumb game." I laughed.

"Yeah mom! Quit cheating!" Amelie laughed. Mom sighed and passed over the dice to Amelie. I missed hanging out with them like this.

"We should go to the beach. It's finally warm enough." I shrugged.

"The beach? You want me to drive you all the way to the beach?" Mom asked.

"Well, we could take the train." Amelie shrugged. "But what's so great about the beach?" She asked while moving her game piece. I frowned and knew that she would love the beach if she gave it a try...

"Why do you hate the beach so much?" I asked.

"Because I just do." She frowned.

"Remember when we went to Hawaii?" I asked mom.

"You went where?" Amelie gasped.

"Oh yeah. Way before I had you and your brother..." She smiled a little, then it turned into a frown... It was the last happy memory we had... "It was fun while it lasted." She forced a smile and I frowned.

"What was so bad about it?" Amelie asked.

"Just really expensive and rained the whole time." I lied. Amelie nodded and went back to playing the game. I placed my hand on mom's hand and she smiled at me. I didn't like to remember the bad things, but I loved every happy moment in my life with them.

Mom decided to let us go to the beach, but without her. Amelie protested the whole time, but finally gave in when I said it would be just me and Ignacio. We had booked a little hotel near the beach and I was excited.

"Hurry up let's go!" Ignacio laughed while knocking on the door.

"Just a minute! I have to make sure we have everything!" I laughed while zipping my suitcase back up. Amelie was dressed in her swim suit with a cover over top of it. I had my bikini on with a little skirt on over it. "Ready?" I asked her. She nodded and walked out with me.

"It's about time!" Ignacio groaned. I shrugged and walked hand in hand with him.

When we got to the beach Amelie stayed under the shade of our mini tent, and watched us play in the water. I brought her here to have fun, not to hang out away from everything... I was hit in the side of the face with ocean water and glared at Ignacio.

"Got you!" He laughed. We had a full on splash war and eventually walked back up to our towel. "She looks depressed..." Ignacio frowned.

"I'll talk to her... Go entertain yourself somewhere else for like ten minutes." I said while pushing him lightly. He nodded and started walking over to the food cart in the parking lot. I made my way over to Amelie and sat next to her. "So are you having fun?" I asked.

"I drew an accurate seagull." She said while showing me her sketch book. I smiled and gave her a thumbs up. "I don't like the beach." She sighed.

"Why do you hate it so much?" I frowned.

"Because. Every girl here is always dressed in a bikinis and always look so pretty... Like you. You're super skinny and perfect... I'm just a bunch of chub and gross..." She frowned.

"Oh Amelie... I don't think that at all! Would it make you feel better if I covered up?" I frowned. She shrugged and I dug through my bag. I pulled out Ignacio's shirt and pulled it over me. "There. If you're going to cover up, I will too." I smiled. "But I don't think you're all chub and gross. I think you're beautiful just the way you are."

"Why?" She frowned.

"Because you're my sister. And I know that you are the most beautiful person in the world. And remember, you're mom's kid. You have natural beauty already bestowed on you." I winked. She laughed and looked up at me. "I promise you look beautiful." I smiled while hugging her.

"I'm not going to take off my cover." She frowned.

"Then I won't either. That way you won't be alone." Ignacio came back holding some ice cream for us. He handed them over and we ate in silence.

"You have my shirt?" Ignacio asked.

"Don't ask." I said quickly.
