Scarlett's POV
Dad was pacing back and forth waiting for mom and Amelie to come home. I was surprised that he was so worried about Amelie. He's never acted like this before.
"Dad, calm down. Mom is with them. Amelie is going to be fine." I laughed.
"It's not just that... You guys are growing up! You guys need to stop growing up!" He yelled.
"Dad! We're going to grow up! I get it, Amelie isn't that cute little toddler anymore. She's growing into a wonderful young lady. You're going to walk us down the isle when we get married and you're going to cry and mom is going to have to drag you out of everything we do with our husbands because you're going to always be our dad." I explained.
"Why are you just like your mother?" He asked while putting his hands on the back of the couch. I looked up at him and shrugged.
"Because I spend so much time with her?" I asked. He nodded once and we heard the door click.
"We're home!" Mom called.
"Did he hurt you?!" Dad called. I rolled my eyes and looked over the back of the couch.
"No dad." Amelie laughed. "We just ate ice cream and talked. Mom supervised." She said while walking passed him. Dad looked at mom and she shrugged.
"What can I say? What do you want me to say? It was a cute date!" Mom laughed. "They shared a giant bowl of ice cream and talked about the things they liked." She smiled.
"Not allowed!" Dad yelled. I looked at mom and raised an eyebrow at her. We watched dad storm off into the bedroom and mom walked over to me.
"Promise me you won't date until college." She said while sitting on the couch.
"I'm not dating until I'm situated in life." I stated calmly.
"I'm not even situated in life and I'm married with three kids." Mom laughed. I didn't believe that she wasn't situated. She was always so level headed and calm about everything. I wanted to be just like that when I got older. Calm about everything and finding the happy in everything.

I waited for my turn to audition. I stood there shaking like a leaf in the beginning of winter. I didn't know what I was doing here, I didn't belong here...
"Scarlett Miranda?" The director called. I walked to the center of the stage and looked at the creative team in front of me. "Alright, show us what you got." He smiled.
"Oh this should be good. Her parents are Phillipa and Lin-Manuel..." I heard one of the producers whisper. I began singing the song they gave me and was immediately stopped...
"No! What was that?!" The director screamed.
"I-I-I'm sorry?" I was appalled...
"You're telling me that your parents were the most renown people in Broadway history and you can't even perform like them?! What a disgrace. Your parents must be ashamed of you." He growled.
"They love me..." I whispered.
"Get out of my theatre!" He yelled. I walked off stage and headed back home. Another audition down the drain... I headed home and saw my parents sitting on the couch.
"They didn't like me..." I sighed.
"Oh well. You'll never be like us. We'll always be hanging over you making sure you never get to be a performer." Dad said while getting up from the couch.
