Lin's POV
First day of school and my day off. Pippa had to leave early to help kids find their classes and our kids were like zoo animals.
"I'm ready." Alejandro smiled while walking out of his room. He was in his school uniform and carried his backpack over his shoulder.
"Good job. Now to figure out why your sisters are going to make us late." I said while walking to their rooms. "Guys! We're going to be late!" I said while knocking on Scarlett's half open door.
"I'm ready. Amelie is putting on her tie. Calm down dad." She laughed while pulling back her hair. She walked passed me and Amelie walked out of her room wearing an almost identical uniform to Scarlett.
"Hand me downs suck." She groaned. "Alejandro got new uniforms." She whined.
"Yes, but your sister went to the same school, and you don't have any other brothers." I said while leading them to the kitchen. "Eat your breakfast quick. We don't have a lot of time." I sighed.
"Momma usually makes us pancakes on our first day." Alejandro frowned.
"Well, momma got called into work a bit early because a few co-workers' kids caught lice already. So be careful. Don't share brushes with anyone." I pointed. They nodded and continued eating their cereal. "Don't worry, momma will be home tomorrow to take you guys to school. So you'll get pancakes tomorrow." I smiled.
When they finished their breakfast I hurried to take them to their bus stop. It was tedious, but everyone was out and about this early. I waited with the kids and saw parents waiting with their kids too. Amelie found her friends and was busy talking with them already. Alejandro found one friend and stuck by him. Scarlett stood by herself since she was the only high schooler at this stop.
"Bye dad." Scarlett said while walking towards the bus. I waved at them and walked back to the apartment building. Things were already hard on my day off. I wandered through the apartment cleaning up the kitchen from the kids. When the kitchen was clean I decided to lounge around the living room. Maybe we should get a dog... A dog would be nice. A little dog that would need a home of happy family.
Scarlett's POV
I sat in my math class trying to concentrate. Dani sat next to me in this class and noticed me trying not to fall asleep. When the teacher let us work in pairs she scooted her seat over to me.
"You alright? You look so tired..." She whispered.
"Just stayed up late making sure I had everything for today." I shrugged. She nodded and we finished our work. It was review from last year, so nothing too impossible. When we finished our class for the day I really didn't want to go to my theatre class.
"Ready to go see who our new people could be?" Dani asked.
"So excited." I rolled my eyes and looked around at the new kids in our class. Some had been taking theatre forever which was good for us since all the freshman usually had to take beginners.
"Scarlett, I heard you won't be auditioning for Phantom this year?" Mr. Daniels frowned.
"No, I'll just be helping with costumes or something..." I shrugged.
"Are you sure?" He asked. "Because your father seemed pretty hurt that you weren't doing it..." He frowned.
"Yeah, well he's going to have to get over it. I'm just going to be on the sidelines this musical." I glared. He nodded and walked off. Dani frowned and pulled me aside.
"Something is wrong.. You hate working costumes." She whispered.
"Well ever since I found out my dad has been bribing the director for my parts I don't want to do it." I frowned. "It's hard enough being the daughter of my parents." I sighed.
"Well, I know you're a talented actress. And not because of your parents. I've been going to school with you since third grade and you've always been talented. Especially with violin. Now your parents can't play that now can they?" She smiled.
"No, but dad can play piano and so can my mom. So they are still musically inclined." I shrugged.
"But you suffered through violin. And did a good job! Come on! It's something besides piano." She smiled. "Now just stop being an ass and just let this blow over. Tell your parents you won't be auditioning for the spring musical but audition anyway. That way they can't put any say in it. Alright?" She smiled.
"Alright. I'll do that." I smiled. She nodded and we headed to our seats. At least I'll be able to leave on time today.
Alejandro's POV
I wandered the halls to lunch and saw Amelie already hanging out with her older friends. I rolled my eyes and had to make a mental note of it all. She was going to be hurt in the long run and it was only going to be from herself. She needed to learn from mom and dad. Not everyone is going to love her for her. They're probably only talking to her because our parents are famous.
"Alejandro! You need to check this out! They're updating the new game and it's going to have even better features than before!" My friend Dexter smiled.
"Is it going to be better than update 10.5.4a??" I asked impatiently.
"That's what beta testers are saying!" He smiled. I watched the video trailer with him and smiled. "It's going to be great!!" He laughed. I agreed with him and we headed to lunch. Things were going to be great!
Amelie's POV
I hated school. I hated everything about it. The only good thing was my friends. At least I had them.
"So there's already word of a party going on next friday. You game?" Sarah asked.
"I'd have to ask my parents. But I'm sure they'll say yes." I smiled. "If not, I'll sneak out. Fuck them." I laughed.
"Good girl." Sarah said while patting my head. I smiled and knew I had some good friends. They may have been older than me but at least I had friends.
Pippa's POV
I sat at my desk filing some student files and felt like I should be doing something more. I looked around at my co-workers and sighed. Maybe I was meant to just do this.
"Pip, you're modeling?" One of them asked.
"I did for a bit over the summer. Why?" I asked.
"My daughter was ranting and raving about how you're going to make a huge comeback on stage because you were modeling for a Broadway catalog or something." She shrugged.
"Oh no. I could never do that again. My husband would never be able to take care of our kids by himself. Maybe when their older..." I laughed.
"Well the pictures she was showing me, you were gorgeous." She smiled.
"Thank you." I laughed. "It took a lot of work to get there." I continued laughing with her and we got back to work before we got in trouble for not working. I liked this job anyway. I didn't need to go back on stage to be happy. I mean, I was kind of wanting to be an actress again...
