Hello everyone, here is another chapter for you! :) It's a bit of a filler but I am really looking forward to the next few chapters and I can't wait to continue writing!
A very big thank you to all of you for reading this story, I didn't know what to expect when I first started writing but I'm really enjoying it! I can't believe I am already on chapter twenty-three!
I hope you have a wonderful evening!
Lots of love, Melody

The next morning I awoke from a loud thud followed by a sharp pain in my left wrist. I groaned in pain and squeezed my eyes shut while trying to figure out what just happened. After a few seconds the pain in my hand died down. Groggily, I opened my eyes and stared at the flowery wallpaper of my childhood bedroom, only a few inches away from my nose.

It took me a while to remember that I was at my parent's house in Nottingham for a visit and that I most likely just punched the wall in my sleep, causing the pain in my left wrist. This bed was so much smaller than my bed in London! I yawned and stretched, hitting the wall with my elbow in the process, and couldn't supress the flood of German curses escaping my mouth. If my parents hadn't been awake already, now they definitely were.

I slipped into my slippers and sighed a little when I realized that I bought the slippers when I had been eight years old. The fact that I had hardly grown in nearly fifteen years was a little sad. Still in my PJ's, I left my old bedroom and quietly shut the door behind me. At the head of the staircase, I heard voices from the kitchen downstairs and knew that my parents were already up.

"Morning" I greeted my parents when I entered the kitchen. My voice was still a little raspy and sleepy but my parents beamed at me nonetheless. "Good morning, honey!" Mum said and pressed a light kiss to my hair before hurling over to the hob to get me some breakfast. My father only gave a little hum and disappeared behind his newspaper.

"How was your first night back home?" My mum asked and put a plate with bacon and eggs in front of me. I shrugged and thanked her. "It was alright. Small bed though." Dad let out a chuckle but didn't look up from is newspaper. My mum frowned a little but the corners of her mouth twitched. "Yes we were wondering about that banging noise. Sounded a little like you were refurnishing your room, if you ask me."

With a soft giggle, I picked up my fork and dug into my delicious breakfast. "As if I would dare to refurnish my room without your consent, Mum!" I said through a mouthful of scrambled eggs. "No one here is even allowed to move the toothpaste without your blessing." Dad made a sound between a grunt and a laugh and held his newspaper even a little higher so we couldn't see his laughing face. Mum sent him a dismissive look before turning to me. "Manners, Abigail! You do not speak with a full mouth."

I sighed and looked down at my plate. "That's a shame because eating and speaking happen to be my two passions." Amusement flickered through my mum's eyes but she tried to keep a stern face. "Oh, we know, Abby." I smiled at her innocently and continued to munch on my breakfast. "So what are your plans for the rest of the week?" Mum asked me and poured herself another cup of coffee. "Coffee?" "Yes, please, fill me up!" I said and Dad shot me a reproving look from behind his newspaper. "Don't give her too much Coffee, Catherine, she's too energetic as it is. Caffeine isn't good for young adults."

I huffed and took the coffee can out of Mum's hands, filling up my cup until it was threatening to spill over. "Oi, I am turning twenty-three in only a few weeks, I can decide on my daily amount of caffeine myself, thanks a lot. Go back to your newspaper, Papa!" Dad ignored my last words and eyed me suspiciously. I knew that he was waiting for me to spill some coffee when picking up the cup. Determined to prove him wrong, I slowly raised the cup and successfully managed to take a sip. Almost immediately, I spluttered and coughed, my mouth burning with the hot liquid.
