It was later that night and I was sitting in the kitchen with a hot cup of tea when the doorbell rang for the seventh time today. Reluctantly, I put down the tea and got up from my chair. On my way to the door, I passed Lucy's room and a smile flickered over my face when I heard soft giggles sounding through her door. Today's events had been harder on Lucy than she had let on and it would take her a while to get used to the perks and disadvantages that came with public attention. The doorbell rang again and I hurried up. "Coming!" I shouted and wondered who on earth would visit us at eleven thirty at night.

Turning on the light in the hallway, I fumbled for my keys in the little bowl besides the door. Just when I had found the right set of keys, the doorbell rang yet again. I let out an annoyed groan and unlocked the door. "Oh for fuck's s- Harry?" I stumbled across the words when I stared into the face of my curly haired friend. Harry gave me a smile but his gorgeous dimples didn't show and he looked distressed. "Hey." He said and pulled me into a hug. I squeezed him tightly and let go, looking at him confused. "What are you doing here?" I said in mild surprise and stepped aside to let him in.

Harry stepped inside the flat and closed the door behind him. "Louis told me what happened." He said and pulled the beanie off his head, running a hand through his messy curls. "I know that Niall's off to Ireland tonight and I wanted to see how Lucy's doing. Where is she?" He said and looked over his shoulder as if he expected to see Lucy sitting in the living room. "Oh Harry!" I stared at him and couldn't help but feel bad for him. "Harry that is so sweet of you-" I began and Harry shrugged. "I'd do the same for any of my friends. I know a thing or two about dealing with the public." He said and I saw a hint of anger in his features. "Thanks for coming." I said and felt a sting inside of me. Harry cared so much for Lucy and even though he always tried to play it down, I knew that he still wasn't over her.

"Harold to the rescue" Harry joked but concern glistened in his green eyes. I smiled but on the inside I was dreading what I was about to tell him. "Harry." I said softly and Harry turned around to me, giving me a questioning look. I hesitated before stepping a little closer to him. "Harry, I appreciate your concern for Lucy and it's unbelievably sweet that you're here for her but-" I bit my lip, unsure of how to tell him. "What is it?" Harry asked, his eyebrows furrowed. "She's with Niall." I said quietly and regarded Harry's face carefully.

Harry nodded slowly and shoved his hands into his pockets. "I know. I am not here to sabotage their relationship, I am just here to check up on my friend." He said and I shook my head. "That's not what I meant." I said and shifted uncomfortably. "Niall... When he heard what happened he blew his flight home and came straight back to London to be there for Lucy. He is with her right now." It took a few seconds for my words to sink in. Harry's face fell as recognition dawned in his eyes. His eyebrows furrowed and there was a bitterness in his features that I had never seen on him before. Harry took a deep breath and fixed his gaze on the floor. I moved my arm to take his hand but decided against it as Harry looked up again. His expression was empty but the disappointment in his eyes was evident.
