Hey lovelies, I hope you enjoy the next chapter! Once again, thanks for all the support and reads! I am really excited for the next chapters, probably be up next weekend (:
Have a lovely evening,
Melody"Abby, I don't know if I can do this!" Lucy whined for the twenty-third time this evening. "Then just don't do it." I stated and ignored the indignant looks she gave me as I leaned closer over the sink to look at the dark burgundy-coloured lipstick I had just put on. "That's not an advice." Lucy complained and pointed her hairpin at me accusingly before burying it in her red hair. Still not looking at her, I ran my thumb down the edges of my bottom lip to wipe away any smeared lipstick. "I did not say that it was an advice, did I now?" I pointed out and gave Lucy a sweet smile who just glared at me.
"You're not helpful. At all." Lucy pouted but I only shrugged my shoulders lightly and stepped back, regarding the result in our bathroom mirror. My brown curls were tamed and put up in a platted crown around my head, a few stubborn streaks already back on the loose, framing my face. The light brown eyeshadow underlined my slightly tanned skin and the burgundy lipstick matched my dress perfectly. And yet, I wasn't very happy with my appearance.
"You look stunning, honey." Lucy complimented me and let her eyes wander over the tight dress approvingly. "I don't know..." I made a face and tried to pull down the skirt a little further, feeling very exposed in the short dress. Lucy sighed and put down her mascara. "Sweetie, this is my dress you're wearing and I swear by god, if you keep pulling it down like that and wear it out, I will scratch your face so bad that Louis won't be able to recognize you." Giving me one last threatening look, she collected her leather jacket from the floor and slipped it over her shoulder.
I stared at my reflection in the mirror and carefully lifted a hand to my hair, testing the stability of my hairstyle. "It's not really me, is it?" I said after a while and withdrew my hand, feeling ridiculously overdressed in Lucy's tight dressed and my heavy make-up. Lucy who had been trying to put on a bracelet one-handed let out a quiet curse when the thin silvery-cord slipped through her finger and landed on the bathroom tiles. She threw me a glance before bending down. "Well, it's my dress. But it looks good on you." She said and straightened up again, the bracelet tightly clutched in her fist.
"Abby, you look amazing. Just go with it, I am sure you will get used to the feeling of a dress very quickly. It's not like you have never worn one before." She added and raised her eyebrows at me with a mocking grin. Rolling my eyes, I looked into the mirror one last time and straightened my shoulders. "Alright. Ready to go?" I looked at Lucy who was a little pale, despite her make-up. Lucy seemed to brace herself for the night and wiped her sweaty fingers on her grey skirt. "Yes." She said quietly and turned around to the bathroom door.
She had only pushed down the door handle a tiny nudge when she froze again. I could see the panic on her face in the reflection of the bathroom mirror. "No." She whispered and gave me a shy look. "No what?" I asked her and put a hand on her back soothingly. Lucy let go of the door handle and looked at me. "I'm not ready to go." She said quietly and wrapped her arms around her chest protectively. "Oh Lu." I held out my arms for her and she accepted my hug gratefully, taking deep breaths.
"If you really don't want to, you don't have to tell them." I said while rubbing little circles on her back. "I'm not telling them about me and Louis because whatever happens between us is not going to be public for a while. But you and Niall have decided to start going out officially. They are our friends, Lu, they deserve to hear it from you rather than reading about it in the press." Lucy gave me one last squeeze before letting go and shrugged. "I know. I'm just worried, your One Directions discussions are always so... intense! I don't feel like they would approve of me going out with Niall. Especially not Karen."
