I arrived at the mall early. 12 to be exact. It was pretty deserted for a Saturday. The first store I stopped at was Hot Topic, my favorite store. It actually was my first job too. Met Alek through it. I smiled at the memory.
I had seen him around school but never had the guts to talk to him. Isn't that how it usually goes? But anyways he needed help looking for a specific band. Bring Me The Horizon. I honestly hadn't listened to them. I felt lame when I did admit that to him. He thought it was "cute."
"I need to show you one of their songs!" he exclaimed pulling out his phone.
"I don't wanna get in trouble."
"Don't worry. I know your manager." he waved at Joe, who was my manager at the time. He gave us a thumbs up. I guessed he got around.
One song turned into a few songs. Instantly my favorite was "Chelsea Smile." I related to the lyrics a lot.
"So now you know them," I swear his smile could light up the whole world. "Listen I know I just met you and all but you seem like a cool girl. My friend flaked on going to their concert with me this weekend so maybe you'd like to come?" I was shocked.
"My name is Alek by the way," he added holding his hand out.
It all basically went from there. We lasted three years but then the incident happened. Now I'm here. Not completely alone but sometimes I wish it was that way.
I lost thought when one of the workers began to talk to me. She had rainbow streaks going through her blonde hair. "Hi. Looking for anything specific today?"
"Any new Bring Me The Horizon merchandise?"

I didn't spend all of the money Cordelia gave me. Only one hundred out of five hundred. All that money and she's only gonna be gone for a week! But I knew this wasn't all of her money. I'm sure most of it was Jeff's. That's why I felt no guilt taking it from her.
He makes a lot of money doing whatever job he does. I never really got the background story on him but I didn't want one. I could care less about him. All I know is he makes my aunt happy. Not sure how, but he does, and that's all that matters.
I went into my room and put my new shirts into my dresser. I then heard a knock on my door. I rushed to the door and opened it revealing Oliver.
"Sup Riverdell girl."
"Don't call me that."
He laughed pleased at making me annoyed.
"What do you want anyways?"
"What? A neighbor can't stop by and say hello?"
"You just did." I shut the door on him and reopened it after a few seconds.
"You got me," he smiled. Never really noticed at how perfect it was. "Anyways I was wondering if you'd like to join me on a stroll. Unless you're busy, but I don't think you are."
"Well you thought wrong."
The joy in his face disappeared. "Really?"
"No."
"Twice in a row! You're on a roll Hayley."
I shrugged. God these guys accents. Anytime they say my name I feel like it's in a different language.
"So you're coming?"
"I guess. Hold on let me get my jacket." Was this a good idea? Should I listen to Nathan? I already said yes. Not like I can just say no suddenly. If he's such a bad person I needed to figure it out myself.
