It just turned one. Cordelia should be here within an hour. Ugh.
I cleaned up my house a little and got ready. Hopefully she wouldn't give me too long of a lecture. I'd probably die of guilt.
To kill time I caught up with one of my favorite shows, Bates Motel.

After an hour of that, I heard the dreading knock. I opened it slowly and my aunt walked past me before I could even open the door whole.
She looked furious.
"Hi," I mumbled.
"Hi is all you have to say? No excuses?" she crossed her arms.
I scratched the back of my head not knowing what to say.
"Sit," she ordered.
I sunk into the couch and she took the spot next to me.
"I thought we've been through enough of these talks," she began. "If it was your mother still in charge she'd probably isolate you from life. You know that's not me. I want you to live life. But not like this."
I fought back my tears. "I know. You've been so good to me and I always fu- screw things up."
"Stop putting yourself down. I know you can do this," she smiled.
I gave her a hug not wanting to let go. "Thank you."

She didn't bring up anything that happened while she was gone after that. Shortest 'lecture' ever. She just talked about her trip for what seemed like hours. Then we heard a knock on the door.
"I'll get it Hayley," she got up and went to open the door.
Oliver.
He gave her a huge hug. Cordelia was happy to see him, I could tell. Was this jealousy I was feeling? She only ever showed so much affection to me. I tried not to let it faze me.
"Nice seeing you again," he said pulling away.
"Feelings mutual."
Oliver turned quiet once he saw me.
"I'll be out in the hall," Cordelia said. "I have to call Jeff."
Just fucking great. The door shut and Oliver's frown turned into a smile.
"What?" I asked already annoyed.
"You're adorable when you try to act mad at me."
"I am mad."
"No you're not love," he sat next to me.
I sighed in response.
"I don't care how many times you've heard it from me but I'm going to say it again. Sorry. For snapping on you. I just can't stand to see someone put themselves down. It just makes things worse. I know from experience."
"It's just a habit, a bad one."
"I want to help you break it," he took my hands and there was that feeling again. Home.
Cordelia entered the room again and I pulled my hands away.
"Is everything okay here?" she asked.
"We're just peachy," Oliver pinched my nose and I slapped his hand.
"Abusive!" Oliver whined.
Cordelia laughed. "You are too much. Do you kids want to come with me to get some coffee down the street? This jetlag is killing me. I'll tell Jay to meet us there."
