I skipped school today. So did Oliver. There was so many questions I needed to be answered. He was currently next door getting something. My patience was horrible at this point.

After I poured my coffee into my favorite green mug I made my way onto the couch. The door opened and he appeared with a laptop.

"What exactly are you going to do with that?" I asked as he sat down next to me.

"Skype."

"Cordelia?"

He nodded his head, set the laptop on the coffee table, and logged onto Skype. We called her and she answered immediately.

Even though she hired these guys to deal with me I couldn't help but smile when I saw her face. I missed her terribly.

She waved. "Can you hear me?"

"Loud and clear," Oli replied.

"Good. So I want to start off by saying sorry. I know I should've told you, but you're a very stubborn girl Hayley. You wouldn't even let them come near you if I told you their purpose. Am I correct?"

I nodded my head because it was true. Here I am thinking that she trusts me and that I can finally be on my own, but nope! Not yet.

"Anyways from what I hear from Oliver and Jay, Nathan is a problem. If you want, I can transfer you to Oliver's school."

"No." I wanted to prove to her and myself that I can control it.

"I knew you would say that," she smiled. "If you don't mind I will still have Oliver and Jay looking after you."

I looked over at Oliver and he grinned.

"It's whatever."

"Good then. I have to get going. Swimming with dolphins today!"

"Have fun," I managed to say before she hung up.

Oliver closed the laptop. "Soooo... I guess you could start calling me your guardian angel."

"In your dreams Alek!"

"Alek?"

Shit. "I meant Oliver. Sorry."

"Who is he?"

"I'd rather not get into that subject right now. He's gone so there's no point."

"It's totally fine. I know what it's like to lose someone close to you."

"But it's not the same," I mumbled. Tears threatened to fall but I stopped myself. The past is in the past. I just needed to accept that. "How'd you get involved with my aunt in the first place?" I asked changing the subject.

"You're not the only one with a gift."

"You call it that too?"

"I wouldn't say power. That's too weird. Anyways, I have the gift of augmentation."

"In english please."

He laughed. "I have the ability to enhance or weaken the powers of others. Just with a touch."

The hug. That's why I had cooled down. But what about the pain?

"Why does it hurt?"

"The higher in anger you are, it hurts. The calmer you get the feeling is magical. At least that's what I'm told," he smirked.

"Is it just you? Or Jay too?"

"Jay also has gifts. He has two, just like you. He has the ability to heal and has superhuman senses. So basically he can see, hear, smell, taste, or feel more than a normal human being."
