Chapter 14

Spencer

I've been avoiding Toby and the other girls actually.

They don't know exactly what happened but they know I'm hurting. Toby too.

I decide to take Alison up on her offer

Alison

"Um Ali, Spencer is pulling into your drive way" Emily says, confused

"Oh, wow she actually did" I smile

"Did what? Is this part of your plan?" Hanna asks

"No, no plan no nothing"

"Are you lying? You've been determined to write about her on your blog"

"This is different, she's hurting. She wants to talk to her old friend is it such a big deal?"

"No" they shrug as the doorbell rings

"Go hideout in the guest room or something and be quiet I want her to be comfortable enough to open up. If you seen how she looked when I approached her, you would know how much she needs to vent" I tell them before they head upstairs

"Hey" I smile when I open the door.

"Hi, sorry I should've called or-"

"No no, don't worry come in"

"It hasn't changed" she chuckles when we enter the living room

"My family isn't huge on change, we like it, it's cozy like this"

"Can I live here? I remember how different our families are"

"They are in ways" I agree

"I just want out of it all. It's annoying and tiring"

"I know, but this is our lives"

"I'm tired of it though. Especially the coming out parties and the parties that parents try to set you up with their kids and shit, it's hard to go through all that when your in pain or when you love someone that ripped your heart out" she sighs

"Is this about Toby?" I ask and she freezes

"How did you know? Is it that obvious?"

"No, you guys hid if well, but remember I know you and I saw the way you guys looked at each other"

"Yea" she mumbles

"What happened?"

"You promise not to tell?"

"I promise"

"The girls don't even know, all who knows is Melissa. I mean my parents didn't even know we were dating, no one really knew so if this got out I'd probably di-"

"Spence, I've got your back don't worry" I encourage her and she nods

"Toby and I were dating for a bit more then three months. We connected and he taught me things I've never thought of doing until I was married. He was my first real experience and I loved him. I thought he did too. Melissa threatened him to stay away from me or else's she'd tell me his secret, when he finally told me about this I said no matter what Melissa knows about his past if won't change anything because Melissa is just jealous she can't get what we have. But recently I found out the secret, and it's not what I expected at all" she says and starts tearing up at the end.

"Do you want to talk about the secret?" I ask and she nods

"I won't tell anyone. Your secret is safe with me and my lips are sealed" I add and she gives me a small smile
