7 years later
Spencer and her friends age: 24
Toby's age: 26
Jenna & Melissa's age: 28
Amber & Roshaun's age: 8

Spencer

"Amber, Roshaun come on we're going to be late!" I call from downstairs

"Where are we going again?" Roshaun asks as he and his sister head downstairs

"Back to my home town. My friend is engaged and I want to be there for her"

"Which friend mommy?" Amber asks

"Aunty Cassidy" I nod

"OUU. Is it to Josh?"  she asks

"Yes" I smile

"Yay!" She cheers.

"Girls" Roshaun gags and I chuckle.

"You guys sure you have everything with you?" I ask

"Yes" the say.

"Okay. I advise you all to check again and make sure you're not forgetting anything you guys want and need. We  are staying there for a Bit and i'm not.coming back if you giys forgot anything"

"What about school?" Amber asks

"You guys are excused from classes and will catch up online, I will help" I tell them

"Okay" they nod

5 hours later

"Oh my god! You guys got so big!" Cassidy gasps as we exit our car.

"Aunty Cassidy!" the kids exlaim as they run towards her.

She chuckles "how are you guys?"

"We are good" they smile "can we see your dog?"

"Sure. Run on in" she smiles and they run inside.

"Hey De" i smile as i hug her.

It's been a year and a half since i last saw Cassidy.

All the girls and i made time to catch up, even when they were in school. But after Lucy's 22nd birthday (A.N pretend shes the youngest) We all just stopped hanging out.

We always talked, but no visits. The past two years were busy for us.

I ran into Cassidy at a work related thing a year and a half ago but that was the last thing.

I may have had bumps along my path but i ended up working somewhere i like.

I was a law student and now work in one of the largest law firms in D.C.

"Spencerrrrrr" she smiles as she holds me Tight

She pulls me inside.

1 hour later

I take my coffee cup and sit outside of Cassidy and her fiancées house on the swing chair.

I hear a buzz saw go off in the distance.

I get up and walk following the noise, still holding my cup.

After walking for a bit the noise is really close.

I walk in the backyard to see a familiar back.

I stare at him in awe. It's Toby.

I rush back to Cassidy's before he notices me.

"Hey" she smiles as she exits her house.

Thankfully I got back in time.

"Hey" I give her a small smile, thinking of Toby.

"You okay?" She asks, sitting beside me

"Mhm" I nod

"You saw Toby"

"What?" I gasp

"Spence, I know you. I know your facial expressions and I know for a fact you followed the sound of that buzz saw. I should've told you we lived in the same area. About 20 houses apart." She chuckles and I sigh

"Yeah I did"

"Did he see you?"'

"No. Thank god. Im not ready for this" I mumble

"How long has it been again?" She asks

"7 years" I mumble

"It's a long time" she nods

"Has he tried to contact you?"

"He did." I nod "I didn't answer, he did it for a year, it was too hard. I'd never get over him if I heard his voice, after a year he stopped calling and leaving messages. He asked about the kids and me, he even wrote me a really nice letter" I admit.

"Oh my god" she gasps

"Yeah, I still have it" I admit to her

"Really?"

"Of course" I nod "he was my first love. He has a special place in my heart"

"I totally get you, but I think you should know something" she says

"What?" I look at her.

"He......he's engaged"

My jaw drops....
